It's a little bit quiet for a high-profile launch though - usually Nseries are announced at either large shows (MWC etc) or at a big Nokia event (like Go Play last fall or Open Studio in 2006). And usually, we see some invitations or hints or similar stuff from the invited people some time earlier...but I haven't heard anything for tomorrow.
I guess that if we see something tomorrow, it might be a couple of S40 XpressMusic phones (like the one mentioned in the W902 preview)... |

Is this 8 Megapixel going to be available to buy for Xmas or just announced or maybe "shipping". Normally even when they start shipping they seem to pick random places to launch the phone in first in Europe / Asia. If your lucky you can get it a few weeks after they start shipping it or not so lucky it's a couple of months before it's available to buy.
I think Nokia will be a little bit behind most to the 8 megapixel party but no doubt their solution will be good. Still I think they'll beat Apple and HTC so they won't be last ![]() |

Probally, but that needs some effort from Nokia's side too. Iphone will walk out as a winner if the TS isn't responsive and the first impact of the phone isn't that good. Good example being that E71/E66 theme on 5800.. if it's the final product.
I do understand that you can change that theme, but many will go for something else after seeing those icons from 90's and i hope Nokia gets it too. |

Bearing in mind that Nokia has now been waiting to annouce their answer to the iphone for more than 1.5 years, the touch devices will probably (and hopefully) be great. everything else would just be ridiculous for a company like nokia.
in german we say "was lange wдhrt wird endlich gut" (what's taking long will finally be good)! |

Anyone know what its capacity is? It's starting to worry me because the BL-5F, which is used in N95 and N96 is 950mAh. What's the difference between 5F and 5K? |

5pteron
same here... but i think being a video oriented phone means longer battery life, the "f" and "k" also suggest that batt will be in higher cap.. just my 2 cents.. ![]() |

Hmm... not necessarily. I've checked a whole one page of Nokia phones in GSMarena and found out that later alphabets after "5" doesn't always mean it's got a higher capacity. And I also haven't found out any phones that use BL-5K.

N85 was supposed to be the N81 successor
So, confirmed specs are QVGA screen, WiFi and HSDPA (UAProf), FM Transmitter (FCC) a 5 megapixel camera with a cover and Carl Zeiss Lens , S60 3rd Edition FP2 and a microSD card slot (pictures) Very looking forward to this phone now!!! |

MobileSlider I don't think the original iphone was that great a seller in the UK so I am not sure what made you think it was, it did comparatively better in the US than the UK. |

wasn't it the fastest selling device o2 uk ever had, not the best selling in the uk ever? besides, the sales dropped dramatically after the initial enthusiasm ware off and they missed their target by wide margin.

mobile today reports that the uk operators are "concerned by the number of expensive high-end handsets being released in Q4"
http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/Orange_...sidy_cuts.html that would make perfect sense, because n95 early adopters are starting to look for replacement around q4 (assuming 18months replacement cycle). of the phones announced thus far only innov8 seems to fit the bill. the 8mpix nokia is another likely candidate, but that is still just a couple of high-end handsets, not a "number" of them. tube is midrange, as seem to be the other n-series phones rumored in this thread. i wonder what else is coming anyway, it seems like it's going to be interesting fall on mobile device front... |

I'm just really suprised that Nokia dosen't have any phone to offer or coming that would replace N95 for many who bought it as many of those owners are surely looking for new phone currently

From FCC test report:
“The only difference between RM-335 and RM-333 is that RM-335 has had all WCDMA and WLAN components removed“ and ”The test results of QURRM-333 are re-used for certification of the QURRM-335“. Two versions? RM-335: for chinese market? Without WCDMA...ok, but why without WLAN? |

i'm always 100% sure unless i say otherwise
tissot: N96 will replace N95('s) at first. (meaning that N95 production will stop at some point) but, of course, N96 is not the only product that will be the replacement for those N95 users.. you'll see |

You really need to have some extra cash laying around if N95 owner pays over 600 euros for N96(that is if you don't need dvb-h). Well hopefully we will see something in couple of months that could top Samsung offering. |

Thus you see the wisdom of Samsung's move with launching the Innov8 now. |
