Yeah, the "old" 7610 had a cult following, this new model looks strangely interesting, shows promise.

Seems like it uses the cam to adapt the colors of the keypad and menu...as Eldar mentioned a while ago. Kinda interesting: Quote:

I think Nokia is intentionally confusing us by rehashing old numbers/names!
![]() A person wanting more info on the 3120 classic for example, types "3120" on google, and he's faced with dozens of pages with the 3120 on it. But he's after the new one not the old one. Same with the 6600 - he's shown dozens, maybe hundreds of pages with the 6600 on it. Same goes for the 7610, and all the other rehashed names of Nokia. With so many numbers out there, not necessarily those with a 4 in them, why cant they just think of something new to name their new phones? IMO, Nokia had lost all creativity when naming their phones! Shame on them. |

Oh well.. 1) 99% (or something in that order anyway
) of people looking for a phone walk into a store 2) 99% of those people don't care about what the heck the number/name of the phone is. 3) Those looking online mostly go to a web-phone store or a manufacturer's site. 4) those looking online with a specific number actually know which phone they are looking for and what it looks like so they can easily tell which one is the right one. Anyway, I think its a minor issue. ![]() |

If that's the case, then nokia should just stop with the numbers they have now. Hahaha.. The N96 - - the next one should be N96-16GB, or N96 Fold, N96 Slide, or N96 Supernova, or N96 comet, or N96 Megaphone, or N96 Terminator, or whatever nicknames they want to add to it! Let's see how exciting that will be. ![]() Quote:

![]() Last I dreamt was the E71 being canned by Nokia for not being hyped & wanted good enough by the online community. |

Ruhul, how so? Based on some always unconfirmed and unfounded rumors? Remember the first time the codenames and picks were leaked in some roadmap? It said Q2 2008. They are right on time (assuming they are announced and shipped by Nokia as well in June
). |

According to my sources, who is as good as others who expected the E 71/66 to be launched in all the earlier months, the problem with Nokia not launching these phones is their indecisiveness regarding, whether to include a 1 GB memory card or 2 GB memory card with the sales package. The meeting to decide this is scheduled on Halloween day and ETA is Christmas 08. There is a Q2 result announcement on July 17 , if that is the summer event of Nokia.!! ritz: You think they will stall a phone which is 98% ready, for a lousy memcard which costs them 5 bucks on manufacturing ?
No way, if they want to keep up with the competition (Blackberry Bold is coming) then they will launch it very soon. |

I've been waiting for a Nokia phone in Candybar form factor with QWERTY + FM Radio since my first Nokia 5510. This is the first phone I'll get as soon as its released, no more waiting. Finally!
3.2 Mpx Camera (Autofocus and Flash) + WiFi + MP3 + GPS Onboard & Assisted + FM Radio + QWERTY + 1,500 mAh Battery = Nokia E71 |
