N95-8GB, 1Q-2008!

http://nds.nokia.com/uaprof/NN95_8GB-1r100.xml

how do you like this bang from nokia?

EDIT as trusted sources said: this is an NXX phone with 8GB's of memory that is being built on the same software of N95, the developers just camouflaged it with the name "N95-8GB" because it's a top secret product.

EDIT: seems like nokia agents (starting with lloydie) don't want that rumor to spread, because it will sabotage the sales of N95, now trusted and independent sources have spoken:

N95-8gb is real and will be in the shops just after Christmas. It is black and has a slightly larger screen than the original.

Not bad

FP2 would have been nice, though...

I think its music edition with 8GB memory, DSP, 5 megapixel with xenon. And slimer design. Elder can confirm it.

I think it is simply a N95 with 8GB - I don't think it will have any other major hardware changes like a Xenon flash or a DSP.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was black...

I am one step ahead-why dont you think of it with a new name like Nokia N96/97/99 or whatever?
Is it necessary to add all things in the same model?
If it was had to be, then there would had been atleast 17 varients of N70

Because the file is from Nokia and is named "N95 8GB"? Makes the chosen name pretty clear imho. And thus, I don't think there will be major changes compared to the N95 (apart from the memory of course, which is mentioned in the name)...

So, if this is the case, then adding 8 GB is ofcourse reasonable cause,
You gotta load loads of maps,
Hi quality videos(movies, music videos),
music,
and storing pics and shot videos.

black N95

hopefully with solid build.

and I don't think just adding 8GB will make it a iPhone killer.

Nope - different aim...but still, makes the N95 much nicer as a music phone than before. I just hope they didn't omit the microSD slot in favor of the internal memory. Because 8GB plus (apparently) SDHC capable microSD is a great combination imho

S-S, why not? I think with increaseing memory nokia should come up with some major improvement like:
-1st priority should be xenon flash. Then higher sound quality, improved camera, more speedy cam, and slimer.

Ruhul, because that's just an updated version from N95 not the successor, my sources? well, many including Eldar said that it won't be out (the successor I mean) untill 2008.

Ruhul, dont expect anything different (from the basic N95) in this phone except the color and memory upgrade. they may even take out the GPS if it were a music phone ?
there was rumor about this. slider music phone. 8GB was also mentioned. badger once mentioned.. (pardon me if im wrong) ???

S-S, why not?
the iphone's main draw is not it's space, but it's UI...[yes, that's it]

the N95 already has more features than the iPhone, adding one more, isn't going to do much. [except of course, if that interface was a fancy full touchscreen]

me too, large internal + memory cards is very convenient. but i doubt it.

sms 8gb maybe if i was going to buy it but i am not, i am just care bout the "body" in black to get to ebay :P

S-S main draw and main drawback, not many people like touchscreen and restrintic phones, or bad call quality, reception or simply lacking basics.

in features the n95 its already way ahead of the iphone, aside lots of pretty animations, and also ita good phone.

the n95 still selling hot and its one of the highest selling phone still... the iphone will have problems to catch up considering the price won't go down by alot and lacks things mentioned above.

Yes, this device will be huge, untill S60 5th edition come.

I love new N95's cover: http://www.s60.cz/c/pristroje-nserie...-8gb-pamet.htm

Translation: no new GPS chip, no new flash, no better batery. Only new cover and memory (in stand of microSD card slot).

Micro SDHC 8,16 GB cards are about to be produced, so an N95 owner can easily buy an 8 GB cards, then what is the logic for N95 8 GB?
I prefer it much to be an NXX.

koЯngear, afaik the 8GB memory cards won't be available for a long time, and I seriously doubt that a normal N95 + 8GB microSD will be cheaper than the N95 8GB.

koblih, is that an official press image? Because that looks bland imho - especially the silver keys...

It would be a shame if they indeed removed the MicroSD port. Having 8GB internal AND ability to plug in another 8GB would have been great. Hope the Czech site is not right (the pic looks like photoshop).

Chlettn, this must be a prototype of the 8GB card, but appears to work in the E90 too. [Via Intomobile.com]

don't say anything about the specs or the name, but why does that file says N95 8GB? a typo? or perhaps nokia is trying to keep the name a secret, so that it will alter it after the announcement?

And to my knowledge sony has already started producing 8 GB memory stick duo.
So, why SDHC 8 GB cards be lag behind?

Nokia is ripping us all off, 8GB Micro SDHC already proven running in E90 only time to wait for some geek put that in N95. If n95 supports microSDHC slot, i dont see why we need N95-8GB (black housing for N95 will be there in the market even without this announcement)

If you have 8GB internal PLUS microSD slot, then its obviously a great thing. And even if the MicroSD slot is removed, it is quite possible that the internal 8GB memory works faster than any card.

Finally, if the 8GB model would cost less than a regular N95+ a 8GB card, we would certainly not be "ripped off".

Yes and that is 375 kilobit per sec which is quite low for n95.
