Dtox2006, don't you think that Nokia are just trying to be a little bit more carefull with this one since it's a high-end device, very important for it's class? Taking people by surprise is sometimes much more effective than actually confirming the announcement and further on the existence of such a device.

deuxani, thanks for the effort! Really nice

I'd say it looks far better than any previous communicator, but it won't win any style contests
What I think is strange about the outer design is the gap between the lowest row of the number keys and the silver strip - a thing the it shares with the E65's design. I guess that that might be the co-branding area...but it looks rather bad imho...

Update: A bit more detail: HSDPA (yes), GPS (no), quad-band GSM (yes), WiFi (of course), internal display (800 x 352), external display (240 x 320). Both screens support 16 million colors and all applications can run on either screen -- launch an app on the external display, open and continue working with a massive increase in pixel-estate.

Oh, it's posted as a leaked press shot over at Engadget Mobile. Nice work, deuxani!

Purx, knights, Dtox2006,

knights, for these mockups I use solely Photoshop. I have never used CAD... only 3D Studio Max to make renders.... but working in 3D Studio Max takes just too much time and by the time I would be finished, the real device would've been presented ages ago. Photoshop can get the work done (only with a bit less depth)..

compared to a communicator it's small
but compared to a phone, it's fine.

it looks like: 123 x 50 x 22 mm and maybe around 130cc

Chokia,

maybe, but featurewise you can't even compare these two.

feature................|..........E90...........|. ... enV (VX9900)
-------------------------------------------------------
internal display......|.......800 x 352......|.....240 x 320
external...............|......240 x 320.......|.....128 x 180
camera................|.......3.2mpx..........|... ..2mpx

different features .... different design

silvihasani, looks better with your bigger screen

I hope it comes with silver or grey like 9500/9300i then only it will compliment its chromed frame and hinges.

Black just doesnt cut it. IMO

More Nintendo DS lite / GBA SP stylings.

For communcation centrics this device is looking hot...
...the Nokia 7200 lives on reincanated as a smartphone!

I rarely ever consider this but accerssories for this generation of product should include a:

Bluettoth headset with display, 3.5mm jack for A2DP output (yes it's a business device (etc etc etc) so why do I want it so much and these people might travel ; )

Desktop stand with home bluetooth synching profile (back ground auto backup basically) and profile (general/pager) switcher.

Comms Universal Transfer... Would be nice to have a smaller device (E50 perchance) and any new communications and contace are duplicated accross so as able to continue but with smaller device, so as if going out to dinner/club.

A smaller one of these could be released sans, gps, wifi(?), hsdpa. And marketed as a txt, email & IM solution. What name it is or class is moot. But a youth version (read: smaller) could act as a foldable BlackBerry.

And for the last time... If it looks like a dull phone on the outside then it has done its job because it is beautiful inside! Granted that people are more savvy nowadays but I was in a pub where I was getting mercilessly cussed for my oversized phone, however when I opened the flap he soon shut up.

If it has TV-out (or VGA out?) like the N93 it could truly be a laptop replacement for businessmen. Hook it up to a projector and show your Powerpoints.

I am starting to think that maybe it needs to be a bit more like **^ramintop^** posted. I'll try to remeasure it and see if it's possible to make the "opened" version.

m.h, but remember E90 will stay here more than 2 and half years. Can you imagine, what could be here in 2009/2010? 7MPx cam, HD-video cameras, Wi-Max, GB memories, VGA displays, and much more... E90 must show the best... Only then it could be killer for several yrs.
