xumdeo, WOW! I used to lough at all those same LG's, but this is very nice (although it doesn't seem to offer too much more than e.g. m600i, or Treo).

Good job.

looks great!

This is a great looking, PDA-like, device, having the advantage of having the screen reconfigured to do many things.

If this phone is coupled with an easy text entry system like MessagEase (www.exideas.com), then it would be a winner not only as a phone, but for text messaging as well.

Go LG!

Display Only Phone (KE 850)
Mobile phone

Manufacturer:
LG Electronics Inc.
Seoul, Korea, South
http://www.lge.com

Design:
LG Electronics Inc.
Kang Heui Cha, Ah Jung Joo, Hwi Tae Lim
Seoul, Korea, South
http://www.lge.com

Simplest display with no obvious keypad, KE 850 clearly differentiates itself from the existing products in the market. With 3 inch touch screen, we have provided a new scene which operates by touching the LCD screen directly with a finger, where the keypad is not revealed. To provoke the sense of luxury through the contrast of High Glossy Black and Metal texture Deco, a leather case is used. We have applied the deco of duplicate injection technology in Window, Glass Fiber to reinforce the strength, and added tin attachment to improve the sense of luxury product.

Also have the same leather case as KE820.

SWIFTheart, wow. This ke770 candybar shine looks really nice! The best looking candybar from LG (or any Korean manufacturer btw ) up till now. I'm curious about the jog part, and about European availability, but I think LG would SCORE with this as an addition to the already highly successful chocolate line.

ke850 looks also cool, but not my type.

xumdeo, do you feel the form factor of the KE850 is very very similar to the iPhone?

they're very different products
one is for fashion only, mid-range (the LG)
the other is for the premium market (although there're a coupla crippling issues, such as the so-so camera, non-removeable battery and lack of any external memory card slot)

for me, if u ignore the price, size and availability
i'll look at the touch screen itself, see which one is easier to type on

Video of the KE850 in action:

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/0...-its-no-poser/

If anyone is good in French it would be nice to hear if he mentions anything about the specifications.

I assume it's only EDGE (KE850) - it would be really nice with 3G and I can't believe it would be that hard to make (Samsung Z720 is small and light (80 g) and has HSDPA, so the needed chipsets etc. can't be hard to make small anymore). I think a stylish Prada-branded phone with 3G would be pretty easy to promote where I live - 3G is probably the best buzzword in the public for high-tech so I think many people would think that this would be both top of the line in fashion and technology with 3G onboard...

Anyway, I would like some specifications on this one - size, weight, screen resolution, etc.

Slow transitions in the UI. Not good. The iPhone seems to have a much better UI.
