Why do you say it's called W770i the Cybershot version is nor called k770 but k550i.
Here the first picture of the W610i Codename Serena. I made a concept of it with photoshop again. It's better you know that before you shout fake fake. |

OK, we saw Ai and we saw the twins Li and Na, are you saying the cybershot is a K550 and not K770 or K650? I thought the K550 was supposed to be a Z550 in a candybar formfactor. And back to Ai, does it have a twin in the Kxxx range or is it just available in two colors? You obviousely don't have sneff and deuxani's quality (yet) but the part with the logo looks like it's from a candybar, an old one too the newer phones don't seem to have a border around the logo, I'm not questioning the general aspects of the phone though. Would there be a difference in screen size too? Like 1.8" vs. 1.9" or something because 220 is a big difference for autofocus and 2 more bits of color. Unless SE is going 24-bit this year, 24 bits =16,7M colors aprox.

Shape, thinness & brushed metal front look cool, but the rest of the design still totally ruins it for me

the buttons on AI is really tactile & easy to press. dont worry about the keypad ,also the build quality is really solid ,... but it's not cup of my tea!

Extending and adding to what mobick has already said I too think that inspite of its strange orange color and metallic nipple like keys the AI will be a hit after all...u like it or u hate it i know that personally....back in my college days my folks and me were vastly fascinated with the then released SE t610...the most amazing one at that time and guess what it had a camera !!!! At that time I had a Sagem myW series fone ( and it still kicks a$$...though a shot of botox might do some real good to its beauty
) and it was something extraterrestrial to us here. And guess wat I got it as my first cell ever after i went to a job and I was so proud...I gleefully neglected the other craze Nokia 6600 :|So from that perspective again I think it will be a major hit in the youth...but to our level when a PDA matters more than nething else,AI will be something we buy for the WOW factor gifts................. Nonethe less it will be successful..this way or that ![]() |

the fact that we have been exposed to high end phones, these mid-range like Ai would not make much appeal to us (simply because we are not the target market). but still, this phone would still be a hit to those who would want to have nice set of features packed in a very compact phone at a reasonable price ![]() |

So, what we could see in 4th January?
Although everybody expects some hi-tech phones, most probably they wouldn`t be already in this announcement. Most probably we would see: -the e-series -the new j phones (heir of j100, j300) -w phones (w200, w880) BTW, z-series would be most probably dead because the emotional series are replacing them. That`s IMHO. |

I find AI very interesting design wise.I believe it will be a big hit.I am not much of a talker although i've been member of this forum a lot more than all of you. Some respected members then was canocep-ghibli etc.Anw what am trying to say is that if we dont see live a mobile we can not judge from some photos.I remember that k700-k800 weren't well commented when we saw the first pictures of them.later they were big hits.SE makes big steps into becoming a big respectable company(sales wise).I personally prefer SE mobiles cuz the ,menu its just perfect.I buy most of the mid and high end devices of all companies and i will certainly buy AI.

m.h, it's strange but not impossible. Due to nokia announcement of n95 they don't want it to have a big head start so they want to release it earlier or maybe only announce it earlier so people could change their mind on buying n95 and instead buy sofia.
And as for the k800 being updated after 11 months. In that 11 months k800 became bestseller and hit. It was tested and reviewed compared and in final it turned out to be superb so its logical to release phone right now when the k800 is still considered very good and make profits from something that will be better than such a great phone as k800 is. And those who will choose to buy k800 will still buy it if there are certain that they don't need more from a phone. But that's just my 2 cents and still I could be wrong :P |

Not counting twin phones(Z710/W710, W300/W530) and the W700(W800 Downgrade), the Z525(Identical to Z520) and the V630. that leaves us with 14 New models. From the total 27, 10 Phones announced in January and February(Mostly in CES and 3GSM), So expect a lot of announcements in these two months. I don't think I missed anything out. |
