Black E50

I saw a tiny ad for a black E50. Never seen any pictures of it, but I see webshops listing E50 now in black or white. Google-results for E50 Black all turn up the regular silver one..

Getting confused now. The tiny picture in the ad showed two E50's, one regular colour and one black..

Any pictures?

Black E50 would be a must..

Actually there is a new version of the E50 coming, called "Metal Black", but there are no pictures of it yet. It's coming to the stores in week 46 in Finland.

http://europe.nokia.com/A4158064

"Also available in Metal Black in selected markets"

Must be as Peoples said. The picture was small, but not mistakable. A full black E50.

Sounds to me like Orange (badging networks) are prepping for a release.

E50 in black in one pocket
8800 SE in the other

Pff, a black E50 would be beautifull it selfes, not in need of a N91 og 8800

Still no results on any pictures?

from Nokia.ie:
Also available in Metal Black in selected markets

edit: My blindness strikes again as the same quote is a few posts over too.. Sorry.

BTW don't like it at all, black phones are so common now, very boring. Mine shiny E50 with white strip looks better IMO!!

There are THREE variants of this phone. The first two really should have been called "silver" colour since they both have silver face and black front, but just differ by a thin white or black strip around the ede.

This third one called "metal black" is what should actually have been given the name black.

You have to wonder what kind of fools work in the Nokia marketing department who cannot plan a series of phone names. I mean its been done a million times by now. Surely cannot be that hard to execute without confusing consumers.

The key question on this "metal black" phone is not really the colour - it is whether Nokia has done any update to the firmware to take care of the several known and fixable defects in the current version.

The heavy marketing of a color variant for "excitement" also suggest to me that the model is a space filler and that we will probably see a follow up E5x model by next summer which addreses the obvious hardware upgrades needed - 3G and a better camera. I expect they will continue to omit wi-fi off from this E5x series.

Yes I know the S/W faults (which should just be simple updates)

But finally a classic Nokia design that represents form and fucntion.

Now if this were a Nokia model series number it would be... ?

Where? In UK here the E50 phone is 165-190 pounds new, whereas N73 is upwards of 280 pounds. So that is about 50% more expensive than N73.

I have seen the Black E50 for real tonight and it looks special. There are also blue, yellow and orange variants for certain markets. The line on the normal E50 which is white or black is then changed to the mentioned colors. Not the complete body is changed to the colors mentioned above. However this is the case with the full black version I saw.

The Black E50 will replace the normal ones.

I have a black E50 in my hand right now. Got it a week ago here in Finland. It's really slick - real metal, the color is sweet. Looks great with the Pearl Black theme

I love you guys...

For the first time I am hyped about a phone...

Was so close to getting the non-black...

Like the 3230, this is amazing for its size and feature set.

This will sell in droves for years to come

Question Nokia E50 good enough as a music player too?

Will the Nokia E50 have a good enough Audio output to sound good though the car audio system via a Cassette adapter?

It's long battery life, small form factor and upcoming full black version makes it a prime candidate.

Nokia E50 as a music phone?

Catch me in All Black! I won't mind giving up FM in the Nokia 5500 for this one.

I was wondering, since its got a better battery life than the Nokia 5500. Will it sound good hooked up via a casette adapter to a car audio system???

Battery life of my own E50 is really great, about 5 days with normal usage. Double that to approxx. 11 days with a BL-6C, which should fit in

Which retailer did you buy from - any contact info?

Also, does it have a new firmware version, or the same one as the existing versions.

Considering the limited sound quality of cassette players it should work. However the high-resolution display and small buttons seem to make it a cumbersome and possible unsafe music solution for driving unless you just push play and leave it.

Hey Peoples, thanks for nice pics (once again I'd like to ask whether it wears off during normal use. And do you see any scratches if you've got some? Coz it seems that it's kinda painted steel (original version) of E50.

I'm thinking of gettin' one of this sleeky E50s

Go to Ebay.de and look for a pwowerseller called "FreddyTel". If you live outside of Germany, then you have to pay them by wire transfer. If you live in Germany they take Paypal. They have an auction going with about 50 of these black E50's.

Or you could upload and link them yourself from this link.
