So today will be announced Morisson from Motorola - price 150 Euro (not subsidized, but operators only, so will cost 1 Euro with contract)
That whould be the best thing that can happen for them!
Let`s see what`s happening today...

What about E11 ?
And what will be Moto's "default" os ? For non-Android phones...

So they announced only one new device? The next disappointment if you ask me. Especially as a european user nothing, and this T-Mobile crap is nothing for me.

Don't get upset, there was only going to be one phone ever announced today. The main announcement was MotoBlur.

For Rooter, this phone will be called DEXT when it is released in Europe. If you watch the speech you will see Sanjay list of two European operators carrying this phone (Orange and telefonica).

The Sholes announcement is coming, wait for Verizon to make it. That is the phone you are waiting for.

I thought CLIQ and DEXT are the same phone but with a different naming scheme for different markets (i.e. CLIQ for US and DEXT for EU), or am I missing something?!

The unsubsidised price from the manufacturer is around $300 AFAIK.

Moto CLIQ is surely a killer
The screen is glass capacitive, and it feels that way

What I want to know is how does the Dext's keyboard + D-pad compare to the Cliq's. They look different, especially the D-pad. But then again, the one Eldar fondled with was a prototype.

I will be interested to see what Motorola's second Android phone is like, hope it's a better effort than this one.

Same phone, just different RF chips depending on the frequencies that need to be supported.

Motorola appears to have another touchscreen phone, the E11, in the making as specs and photos have turned up online.

It is rumoured that the phone sports a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with a 240x320 pixel resolution, a 3-megapixel camera, 3D menus, a media player, a microSD slot card, a USB port, Bluetooth and dual-band GSM/GPRS (900/1800 MHz) connectivity.

I believe we'll see the Sholes either at the Moto Dev summit or at CTIA in Las Vegas.

CTIA in April? You will see Sholes way before than. The Moto Dev summit is possible, but it won't be announced there.

I meant the CTIA in fall. They have two events a year. And it should be a day after Moto Dev Summit.

I always forget their fall show, it is smaller than the spring show. The spring show has all the manufacturers, suppliers, and carriers for cell phones. The fall show doesn't (they have some fleet stuff, healthcare and content, but I don't pay attention).

Either way, Sholes will be announced by the carrier and not Motorola. Which is actually really good, Motorola marketing sucks.

Its weird how many praised the Cliq at Mobilize 09, yet in previews made by BGR, T3, and others, they say its cheaplymade, the keyboard isn't tactile, and the UI is overall slow. But then again, they might be playing with an unfinished prototype.

As much as I hate to double post, I believe I'll have no choice to. I'm surprised no one posted any of the good news yet.

Motorola Tao, formely known as the Sholes, appears in the wild

Motorola Ruby, renamed as the V13, is approved by the Bluetooth SIG.

Its a CDMA phone . Though i'm really disappointed they left it with such a small display and didn't bother optimising it for Android. This could have been such a great Android device if they made the hardware similar to the Samsung Alias 2.

from "sholes" to "tao"

more info:

"The Tao has a metal contruction and phsical QWERTY keyboard. It’s very heavy according to the another member at HoFo. Motorola’s Tao will probably be a long device, as seen in the pictures. It will run Android OS 2.0 Eclair."

cheers!

Even Android 1.6 is yet to see an official announcement. Given that, I wonder when the Android-2.0-sporting Tao can be announced.

It can be announced whenever Verizon decides to.

Apparently, BGR has reported that it'll be renamed as the Droid. They also included that it had a ARM 500 Mhz Porcessor. Personally, I think thay're wrong about that. I'm pretty sure it has an OMAP 600mhz proc.

Yeah...a 500 Mhz processor would only be on par with Moto's Z6...I think it will be OMAP 600mhz as well.

It seems like all the new "high-end" Android devices are holding back for some reason.

The Ruby is long dead. If it made it through the Bluetooth SIG it is because it was sitting in backlog for awhile. Unfortunately the engineers that were working on it were laid off a long time ago.
