Why has the spam issue suddenly got so out of hand?
You tell me SC, it's crazy, most of the time I don't do any thing except refreshing forum over and over again and deleting spam, don't even find time to read posts or post any thing, some times as soon as I delete posts and ban the spammer and press the new posts there are already few more spam posts.
this new breed of spammers seem to post at the speed of light. one spammer posted 80 posts in about an hourress the new posts there are already few more spam posts.
Huge amounts of spam indeed.
Even subforums are full of it.

It must be a tiring job "cleaning" the forum and deleting all those spam - the forum wouldn't be the same without you guys back there.

i've just deleted one spammer who has made 36 posts in a matter minutes. we are all working overtime to delete the spam and getting them before they can post. i do believe that MR is being deliberately targetted.

Like I said before, you guys need to set it up so that a new registration can only post in the intro forum (Set up a proper format too) and can only access the rest after manual approval.
I had faced this same issue in another forum and this is how we tackled it.

even better - new members can't post at all, but have to await moderation.
Block any new registrations for a month see if that discourages them at least in the short time.Or even better don't let any new member to register at all
There are loads more you can do to put a permanent stop to this. Check the IP ranges. See if they lie within a predictable range. Check back to see if the ISPs match. Send an abuse report to the ISP if too many spam accounts arise from their IPs... and so on.

This is getting very annoying for us members, and I bet it's not fun to delete those spam posts either.
It's not going to change if only thing you mods do is just wipe out their posts. They keep coming and coming till you do something about the registration system, or ban certain addresses.
Unless the admins do something soon the spam is going to overwhelm this forum and that will be the end of the English language forum.
Could we PLEASE get the accounts to be limited to the intro forum until approval? If the admins can't be bothered, they should step down and make one of the mods admin.
I'll PM Mark on fb and see if he can do something.
