Can Nokia phones charge from USB cable?

    Hi,

Couple of days back i read somewhere that Moto V3i can charge thru USb cable when connected to a PC. is it true???

Also I wud like to know which all companies/phones offer this features.

Well the phone which i own Nokia 6230i does not support this (as far as i know) and i think this is a great feature to have it in a mobile phone.

    Thanks

It's a useless feature. It takes hours to recharge it, and it drains your laptop life.

I totally agree it takes much longer to charge than the normal wall charger, and i can only imagine it would drain lap top batteries

I think the idea is you charge your phone or whatever from your laptop while its plugged in.

Think about it, youve got say a work phone, a pocket PC, and a personal phone, rather than having to carry about 4 charges (and remember to take them with you). If they can charge of USB its much easier just to keep the cables in your laptop bag and they are much lighter and take up less space.

TBH i think this is an area nokia is missing out on, i work in a phone shop and it is a thing business types ask for, and will take another phone because it will.

you have to buy it separately though, It's not the default usb cable that comes with the phone.

divooneh23, no it's not, & it's not cheap either (on the German Site 57?) but still the option exists & who really NEEDS it, can get it.

What a dumb statement, im sorry but i usually have my laptop plugged into a WALL when im recharging my phone via USB and um, there are deskstop computers as well. When im at work i usually have a USB cable in my bag and can plug into a random desktop computer USB port at my work place for a few hours while I am doing other things.

btw various samsung models charge off the USB port as well.

Imho this should be included in the package of at least the N- and especially ESeries handsets - while it is nice to be able to charge a handset via USB, I don't think anybody pays that price for it...
