Question My memory card reader is not working properly

I have a memory card reader which has a MS slot, SD/MMC slot and a USB slot. Usually when you insert a card or USB cable, it shows up on My Computer, either as Removable Disk F:, G:, H: or I: but the only one which shows up is Disk F: which is the USB slot. The other Removable Disks have gone. I've had this problem many times and sometimes it appears again but I don't know why.

    Hope this make sense.

    Dominic

    Nope!

On my card slot, the F:/G:/H: whatever only appear when I have a card inserted.

Try to rephrase your problem, I didn't understand it well...

I assume what you meant was some of the removable disks of your multiple disk reader are no longer recognised?

Perhaps you have a driver error?
Which version of windows are you running?

    I recommend doing the following:

Right click on your 'My Computer' icon, then scroll and click 'Properties', after that click on the 'Hardware' tab, then go to 'Device Manager',find your removable hard drive hardware (memory card reader) and double click on it.

It will bring up a page of different options, simply click on the 'Driver' tab, and then click on 'Update Driver'. Stick in the CD that came with your memory card reader, then when it asks to search for new drivers itself choose 'No, not this time', and instead choose the new drivers from your own location, which in this case will be your CD/DVD drive that has the memory card reader drivers in it.

After it find and installs the drivers off the CD, everything should be back to normal.

If not, it means your card readers bust.

    WAAA I CAN'T DO THIS :((((((((((((((

The memory card reader was already with the computer when my dad bought it. It's called a CR i500. I have Windows XP.
Naim.F.C, I got up to the part to the "find your removable hard drive hardware" part but I can't seem to find it.

Expand Disk drives, or generic volumes for me.
It might be in one of these.

Karim, it didn't use to do that though. If nothing was connected all of the removable disks were there on My Computer, unused.
