Re Rover, I would not get all giddy about it yet. Maemo is not fully developed yet, so the UI etc. may not be quite as sleek as we would all hope. App suite may also not be complete yet.
I wouldn't expect anything revolutionary on the UI just yet. I am sure there were some leaked examples indicating what to expect.
Anyway you should all be able to see for yourselves by end of September, early October.

This device may not be as slick as iPhone in terms of user experience but in its own way it will leave the N97 behind. For sure the h/w platform is enough to give iPhone 3GS good competition and future devices will take full advantage of this HD Multimedia future.

For the future, Nokia have hit upon the same idea as Palm, HTC (Sense) etc in that will produce a user experience where people will communicate with contacts using a variety of methods (voice, sms, voip, mail, IM, etc) and clients (Google, Skype, Twitter, etc ) all rolled into one interface which is also location-aware.

This should be presented in a nice, smooth-flowing interface.

Also Nokia will improve other areas around imaging that people moan about such as xenon flash, face tracking in the camera UI, blah blah blah.

Of course Nokia will probably not be the only one to support these features, other manufacturers are also moving forward. The real challenge is to make them all integrate well together, work properly and make the experience painless (even exciting) for the end user. I think Nokia can do OK here.

The other challenge is to have a set of compelling cloud-based experiences (Apps / Services) to build a more complete experience, loyalty and revenues.
I fear for Nokia here.
