More nokias to come soon, including 3230, 6260, and a 3G clamshell 2650. the source for this info is very confident, and they have changed little since earlier protos.
many others i wrote about before also on track.

Why 2650?! This way they're gonna get stuck in the future with number-counting again! why then not 2100 or 2200. Like with the 8 series, they can't go very much higher anymore!! And why 9500 when they could've called it 9300 and 9400?!
1+1=2 still! ;)

the 3230 > what will be the difference between the 3230 and the 3220 just presented?
the 2650 > a 3G clammshell in lower end class, i think this would be a great idea, which other company has got a low end 3G model yet? mighby finaly a 3g phone with a smaller price ticked printed on the back of the phone.

Thanks Gaurav for this and all the other exiting rumors. Would you mind recapping the basic features of these models as I am a bit confused which one is which (relative to your earlier postings)? I.e. screen, looks, size, anything else noteworthy?

lots of things, but i cannot go into specifics due to sensitivity of sources. this info is very reliable however, i am sure eldar can confirm this too.
the screen on the 3g clams is NOT series 40, something higher, I can confirm that for definite. I did not measure protos, but they were moderately detailed screens, and one of my sources noted that is was a custom order by nokia, a size not common at the moment (less than qvga, about series 60 size). what i think will surprise you is how nokia have implemented the designwork around these 3g models, they are not your typical nec-type keypad and big screen with low battery, they are more interesting and solidly designed - the hinge system locks better than on, say, samsungs (nokia is very sensitive about having solid mechanisms - they decided if they are going with clams, they are going to add a few ideas of their own to make their phones feel more solid - don't just expect a variation on samsung's z100).
2650 will not be too special, it is only 1 of about 4-5 3g models, and the cheapest one, the others will be quite expensive, and nokia needed a fallback to compete effectively with lower end 3gs.
3230 has more sensible design over 3220, and has a few minor additions like radio and mp3 player.

And personally I think radio and MP3 in a 3xxx series phone are far from minor things. If the design is (finally) cool yet conservative enough + VGA with video + 65k screen.. should be a massive seller (that would be basically 6230 without bluetooth though).

by then they should have announced the 6260 with some improvements and far more desirable form factor, as well as many other phones. they need to watch pricing though, the other companies are becoming much more cost efficient.

There will be other more expensive models above, one of which is 8920. And 2 very high end 3g clamshells also on schedule to release christmas. There's a lot more to see from Nokia this year in 6 and 8 series.
So not a replacement of the 6100 then! Will that be replaced? But it won't have much better specs then, right? about the same as 6230? All this fuzz about the 6230 and 2 months later they introduce the follow-up already!

it will come later, not yet, towards december actually. 6100 replacement (not 61xx, something else, you will be surprised by name..part of nokia's new number scheme..) may come around then as well. it will have some minor refinements, no major new feature. They might stick a 1mp camera in the 6300 to compete if that's needed...otherwise a lot of new models still use vga and S40.2 combo.

6300, or 6320 now even :) is full serious successor for 6310i owners, building on reliability and usability aspects, not on latest technology.
I am pretty curious about 6300 and 6320, these could prove to be very elegant phones with record breaking battery times.

hi yes, there was innaccuracy there from source. delphi did state 2650 is clamshell version of 2600 and it appears he was the one right in this case :) I got all the info I could get, in this case 2650 clamshell I did not test proto but a different source told me it was 3G. And the other handsets I mention are not wrong, they are still in development. I have tried protos of far better handsets to come, about 8 more this year at least, and again they were not shown by Nokia yet :( I think software issue
gaurav, can we hope to see more phones tomorrow ? im thinking of 9300, 7xxx, 8xxx and music phone...

Vampyre, those are def. coming, i have held protos of 9300, 3230 etc, they are also coming, gauranteed! Maybe they just wanted to give attention to the new clams for now..

3230? The 3220 was announced only a week ago.
Memzee, Connect is correct, the 3230 is a different handset, design as a music phone, which has no keypad but instead uses a touch pad like on the iPod and has a new spinning UI.
Ahhhhhhh. So this is the MP3 player we should be expecting! Thanks for clearing that up Delphi mate. :)
3230? The 3220 was announced only a week ago.

Maybe we'll see more of the new models and maybe some the new ones at CommunicAsia 2004.
...You have to remember sometimes when you are given phone for testing even, you do not know network type and internal characteristics until actual phone launch.
If you don't know the characteristics of the phone, maybe you shouldn't try to guess those either and then spread incorrect information. If you have some kind of "must" to spread info about unveiled products, spread the info you know is correct. Usually this means the desing, not much more.

when new phones from Nokia annouce? Next month? or 2 next weeks or 3 next weeks?I think Nokia announce 5 phones because Nokia maybe has a lot of phones but keep some phones for example 8 serie and 3230 and more...

well, now it all seems to make sense, they kept some of the good stuff to present it on the asia thing, hopefully they announce sth breathtaking (like 7280 or 6320 ;)

there were some phones presented in the past at CommunicAsia from nokia,
like the Nokia 8850, but it's more a showcase of new technologie and carrier stuff.
Might be possible that they launch the new 8920 over there...
When is this showcase this year?

Do you know if another version of 6230 is coming out, I love the specs and size of the phone, just not the look, could it be coming out in a different look (a different case or shell) with a different model number.
You don't like the design of the 6230? I think that's one of its strongest attractions.
well it depends, if compared to the say more experimental designs like 7210 etc then it surely is a nice phone, but then again compare it to 6310i streamlined design and you know what u r missing ;)

The 6260 and 2650 are real and will be available in a couple of months.
They're on Nokia's own website!
