I have good information telling me it will be a 6260 now, not 6640! Sleeker 6230 basically. A very similar 8 series model with more extravagent external shell and form factor will also come. These are very different from the 6300 etc, which will bring something you have not seen from Nokia yet :) This info has been checked with a few good sources, who are now saying it's concrete.

Also, I commented earlier in year about another enterprise line phone. Well, remember :) Like eldar said most info will fall through during summer, with a couple of "stopgap" announcements until then. Over ten new phones you have not seen from Nokia *will* be on market to buy around xmas though. Eldar's posted one, but that's not exactly one of the stronger handsets..

I'll say... I think it's ugly as hell. :p Almost like a cross between 3650, 6600 and K700. :spy:

gaurav311, thanks for the info
got the pics of this model?
Are you referring to Charlie, or to some other model? Charlie is 6260??? If it's not Charlie, will it have better specs than the 6230, or merely a different form factor?? Maybe a larger screen??
What about any 6850, expected to be announced this summer? Any details?

no, charlie is not 62xx line.
6260 will have some refinements over 6230, main thing will be form factor however and display/menus (again, minor refinements, stuff that should have been there in the first place) but nothing too major. Physically the screen is not larger (no other comment).
68xx update will also come, its basically same but with qwerty and improved outside design, and may be held back until next year to allow further saturation of 6820 sales...it's not a major thing for Nokia any more. There's a smaller communicator type phone they hope will bridge the gap for business users who want smaller phone but full keyboard.
gaurav311, Physically the screen is not larger (no other comment).
Physically? Does that include resolution? Damn Nokia won't listen about changing the feeble 128*128. Just how Samsung don't implement bluetooth. I just don't get it.
what exactly is the form-factor? Do you mean in terms of size, or only design? Will it be smaller than 6230? I can hardly imagine any smaller, I mean, they can't afford to make any smaller buttons, can they?! Can it be seen as the 6230i version? Or improvement of 6220? with a VGA-cam, bluetooth and card-slot.. PTT perhaps and Rs-MMC?
There's a smaller communicator type phone they hope will bridge the gap for business users who want smaller phone but full keyboard. Do you mean the 6810 by this? Or yet something newer coming up?
Questions questions.. I understand you can't be too specific and detailed about it.. but I appreciate all that you tell :)
There will be communicator smaller than 9500 without WIFI etc... Just only for lower price.
robo, There will be communicator smaller than 9500 without WIFI etc... Just only for lower price.
Who told you that?
Memzee,
This is correct there is another 9x00 model with no WiFi or Camera. More consumer foucsed with funky design and smaller form factor.
Sounds cool. When you say consumer though you mean 'the businessman' though, right? I can't see anyone else needing all those other functions.
Gaurav311 must mean the 6100 follow-up by 6260! Like 6610 and 6100, now it'll be 6230 and 6260: Virtually same specs, only different form factor :)
Very interesting that Nokia is developing the 9xxx more and more, I think there's great potential!
robo, Delphi,
I hope the next 9xxx will be 3G. It should be great to send/receive emails with high speed.
Gaurav311, These are very different from the 6300 etc, which will bring something you have not seen from Nokia yet So something that has been done by some other company already and is new for Nokia, or a phone that is like you've NEVER seen before in ANY phone yet??? Your information is analysed VERY thoroughly ;)
Can't be a clamshell, can't be 7700-like, nor 9500 or 6800.. hmm.. does it have something to do with "a thing that can flip/slide"?? :spy:
yes, I'm into gossip!

although i can say drop hints about some things/expectable features, i cannot/shouldn't give information that could *seriously* comprimise the company's ideas about unreleased important designs. nokia have some some clams to spearhead the 3g campaign in 2nd half of 2004, which have unique design features, along side various other handsets i have mentioned (like 128x128 edge gsms, in my early threads, which are also still coming). Most of these are firm strong excellent designs and are NOT like charlie, 7610, 6630, etc, which are very specific types of phones. The new flagships will have classic nokia design. You can expect a lot of derivation from 82/8310/6310 old classics combined with a bit of the new features hinted in 6230, combined with some fresh new nokia ideas. . Expect large number of announcements from Nokia (many more S40 phones to come across all price ranges still) later in year, possibly biggest combined launch of handsets in their history. A lot of them will be announced this year but will come out in 2005, but most are aimed for xmas time.

sebset,
9300 will be an awesome phone :) Sales levels may be uncertain since it will still be very expensive, and design is a bit unweildy still. The fact that it's a x300 phone should tell you something. I am not sure if they will release this one before 9500 (i.e. this year), but some sources confirm that nokia is pretty concrete on the idea of that phone now. IMO it's a good idea considering the similar phones from Moto coming out at the same time.
sebset, 9300 is not 3G but the 6260 is an interesting twist in the design !
Delphi,
Let me hope the 6260 has a decent size of screen. Still 128x128?
So they will be having the 9300 and 9500 alongside eachother, then they must have quite some differences in order not to influence eachother's market and sales.
Delphi, so you have seen the 6260 to know about its design? or is it hear-say? If you have seen it, do you like it or not, that "twist"?
Gaurav311 ...and are NOT like charlie, 7610, 6630, etc, which are very specific types of phones. You don't mention Charlie and 6630 as the same phone, so there will be "Charlie" AND 6630 BOTH??? intersting...
What are Nokia's visions and expectations about Series 90? Do they expect a lot from the 7700? Is this a sort of preliminary 3G device without the 3G technology? Can we expect more series 90 devices this year still?
What about other new series, like series 50 was being rumoured: series 40 but with larger screens?

Series 40 and Series 60 still in most new phones, if somewhat refined. 7700 is an experimental media phone, they have future, more serious successors planned for later on 3G (7750 for example) which are nicer looking, but not released for long time yet, platform still under a lot of development and refinement. After much experiment and research, nokia have decided on clams are their initial MAIN 3g launch line up, with a few experimental "normal" nokias as well. they are not taking further risks pretty much after this point. this isn't their main main sellers though, those will be the GSM EDGE handsets which are not 3G and are size&design focused small handsets (8xxx, 6xxx, updated youth line with wheels) using smaller screens, and nokia are counting on those for most sales worldwide through 2005 (as 3g matures slowly). It is unlikely you will see something like 7700 ever again, it really was an experimental pilot launch for S90.. S90 is very powerful platform, expect to see one more big fashion device on it soon that is more serious and better looking, but maybe not this year.
Nokia should better announce something quick, or they will lose my interest to their models :/

The truth is that Nokia rumours (spread by gaurav & Co.) are the salt and pepper of this site.
No Px00 rumour, no Panasonic new phone, no Sendo X my dears;-)
Nokia is THE NEWS.
gaurav....thanks for sharing us.:-))
