My new car audio system (relatively new because I have it from 8 month :) )

For radio cd is a Sony model, which I have chose because it is relatively cheap and has USB port(which is a must have thing in my opinion) and also aux.

Generally satisfied with quality of sound (but not impressed or something like this). Volume is ok you know typical 4x50 watt, but I have installed some more watts which I will describe later. USB is a practice thing although the audio from it is not like the cd (at least in my system).
Radio overall is good.

Speakers:

All changed and new, 2 Pioneer two way speakers 140 watts rms , 2 Panasonic with external twitters ~150 watts, 2 Kenwood with 4 ways speaker 500 watts one peak power, and one (my preferred one) Alpine 1200 watts subwoofer. it is like an experiment from me to put all those speakers. The sound is a mix and it is a bit hard to explain. One thing is sure, there is a lot of sound in my car and I not dare to put the music at max volume  . the max that I can tolerate is 24, 25 in my car cd player player which have a 34 max scale.

Amplifier:

Two, one is Sony GT series 600 watts power and the other is Kenwood also 600

watts.

My scheme of speakers is like this:http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/2581/myschemecaraudiosustem1sc4.th.gif (http://img299.imageshack.us/my.php?image=myschemecaraudiosustem1sc4.gif)

I don’t know if I have chosen the right speakers or the right scheme, but can assure you that doing the right sound it is very difficult and expensive.
But I tray and tray :)

Theoretically I know that my Sony cd is a bit weak for my Pioner+Panasonic speakers in power, so I chose ~65 % of load in front , knowing that behind I have to many speaker with additional supply.

What do you think, it is ok or do I have to make changes?
And you what sound have in your cars?

i have a pioneer cd player with ipod compatibility, and 2 pioneer speakers in the back, will buy a sub-woofer when i can, and 2 front speakers, but that is one hell of a sound system you have there williammani! ;) did you have any professional help for that? i need some help too.

**^ramintop^** what professional help, not at all when choosing components and the scheme that you see is made by me in Paint  .
professional help come when Kenwood speakers and power suplay for amplific are mounted. i have to cut some parts of my car in the rear to put those Kenwood speakers.

pioneer is my preferred choice for sound in car, so for me you have done the right choice with pioner cd player and with speakers to. i will recomend you to put two more speakers pioner if you can and if you love bass like i am a sub-woofer is a must .

ACCORD set-up just transfered to DMAX (ACCORD sold)=
pioneer head unit with aux-in, USB host, and do cd/mp3/wma/aac... 3 sony xplod amp (quite cheap here)... 4x 6" kicker mids (mid-level), 4x MB quart (this is the expensive part), and 2nd hand 1x L5 SoloB sub (CHEEEAAAP deal)...

PAJERO=
all stack + pre amp active SUB from poineer (only 10" and 250w)... though i want it to have good audio system, but im just scared that my door panels would not be return to its original state after being ripped when speakers will be installed there... maybe external EQ next month...

I wish my car would allow me to easily change the audio system lol. The CD player malarky is all built into the dashboard so I d need to rip out the whole car to change it....

knights, and how can you "drive" like that ??

its one of the cheapest quality setup i can get, and the cheapest compared to my friends... im not fan of sound being too loud that it can be heard 20 blocks away, all i want is good balance, and quality sound... i have a friend here who spent twice the cost of his car for audio setup.. mind blowing loudness!!! imagine how he fit 8x 15" SOLO-X on Toyota Innova + 16x 10" DLS mids...

same with pajero and latest model sedans..

Pioneer 5650 (i think. its old, 2 years, so i don't remember it exactly). MP3... 3 Way 250 Watts pioneers in the rear... (don't like em though. i have a spare pair with me 5 way 400 watts set that i bought originally, are gr8. but since the current car came with these round ones, im unable to put these oval shaped ones it. im gonna have to change the tray.. so im avoiding.) front speakers need to be really good. as the low-midrange frequencies aren't handled well by the rear ones. so no one should avoid spending a few extra bucks to get the good ones.
its a cheap setup... below 400$ US (max). gives GOOD sound IMO. suffices my need. no AMP for me, AT ALL.

P.S. always get pioneer, NEVER Sony (they suck at car music systems). or Alpines (they say they're good. but haven't tried it). i'll stick to pioneer though :D

6x9 speakers are meant for rear use... though you can have it in front if you like it;)

NEVER Sony

sonys speakers are good but i agree with you that most of the other known brands in car-audio are better... the only reason i get sony for my amp (most expensive part of the set-up) is their after-sales support and warranty...

KENWOOD speakers

i and my friends dont have kenwoods in our set-up.. i cant comment... in home rigs, kenwood's reputation is still good... i think kenwood and TEAC are one?

customs... its either ripped a part of your panels to fit it, or have moldings on it...
