Hello,

in Artem Lutfullin's review of HTC Touch Cruise is explained that you can't change the function of the GPS key (see quote below).
There is also an option, though typical of HTC-branded communicators, that allows you to reprogram almost any hardware button except for the shortcut to the navigation app, power button and pick up/hang up keys.

Традиционно для HTC в коммуникаторе можно переназначить практически любую аппаратную клавишу за исключением навигационной кнопки (вызов программы навигации), кнопки выключения устройства или экрана и клавиш приема и отбоя вызова.
But in the screen shot in the review you can read the following:
кнопка 1: сообщения (engl. button 1: messaging)

According to that you can change the assignment of this button.

I am confused! Can you tell me whats true?
Unfortunately I don't own a Touch Cruise and can't check it by myself! But it's important to me, because I want to buy one and want to know, if I can change the function of the GPS key and the Internet Explorer key without software like AE Buttons.

Please help!
Greetings,
TopDog

Hi,

You can change the functions of the 4 hard keys at the bottom of the Cruise and of the key on its left side.
No need of 3rd party software to do that.
