What a strange poll, so many diverse musical genres and you give us a choice of two... Both of which can be so lame, and also so strong. If you dont like RAP then at least give the Insane Clown Posse a listen, with a very sensible head on, and ensure you realise what a tongue in cheek attitude they have.

I am lucky enough to have an appreciation for many genres of music so I wouldnt really be able to give an answer for this thread as i dont value one higher than the other. Infact many would say Rap originated from Rock.

I personally am all-round musiic fan, but I prefer rock more.
I love how they sound and their lyrics have a point, while rap songs- well, there are some really good songs (like Lose Yourself), but most of them are cheap-made in my taste.

I wonder where the OP puts the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, or if they are old enough, like I am, to remember the Sugar Hill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, Spoonie Gee and 1979 Jazzy Jeff, not of Fresh Prince fame.

rock anyday. rap is just neandathals spouting about how much they hate the world and everything in it.
it's also a contest to see how many times they can say " bitch", ho", and the N word within the space of 5 seconds utilising a standard of english last practiced in england during the stone age.
