I find myself going into noisy eating establishments occasionaly. Can I use noise canceling ear phones with my Nokia N 95 8gb to make my visits more bearable ? And which ones are more cost effective and comfortable?

Bose is just too expensive.
If you're looking for a set of noise-cancelling phones for around 40€; have a look at the Sennheiser CX300, or CX500 if you've got more cash to burn.

If you feel like spending more money, get the Shure's. They are the absolute king of in-ears. Check out cnet.com or Iaudiophile for reviews.

For 50$ you can get in -ear headphones with noise cancelling.
Seinnheiser and Shure are also good.

Shure SE110 or SE210 are good investment, £45 & 65 respectively. I know pricey but good investment if you listen 6 hours to music daily like me. lol
