View Full Version : SE GPS device accessory HGE-100 for K850i
I have a SE K850i and I am interested in buying a GPS accessory compatible with this phone the SE HGE-100. Can anyone tell me if using the GPS on the phone means downloading anything from mobile internet and whether it costs anything while the GPS is being used to find streets or to give you directions. I am on prepaid so I don't want to buy this accessory if using the GPS costs me more money.
SE's Z750 (SE's only GPS-equipped phone yet) uses Google Maps for every GPS-related task, so it has to download maps and everything else.
This is covered in the Z750's review (http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-z750-en.shtml) - it might be a good idea to read that.
I don't exactly know how the K850 + HGE-100 handles that, but I guess in the same way. And I'm not aware of any onboard navigation app for Java-only handsets like the K850....
Doesn't seem to be a good idea in your case.
