I'm a little confused as to how the iPod can be used as a hard-drive once 'disk use' has been enabled. When my iPod (Nano; 2GB) was connected to my computer, I checked the 'disk use' box on iTunes. A few days later, I connected my iPod to a friends computer to put a few pictures in but all the music on my iPod got wiped out and it Snced to his playlist !

Is this how it generally works or am I complete idiot ?..:p

akskrish, you have to check the box "manually update this Ipod" i Itunes. I would also recommend you to look at a software called Xplay, which makes life easier for those who use their ipod on more than one computer.

So when I check the 'Manually manage music' box, the setting gets synced to my iPod and is computer independent ?

What if I connect my iPod to another computer in which iTunes' "Manually Manage Music" box is not checked ?

akskrish, I'm not sure what happens, but if you use Xplay it doesn't matter as Itunes wont controll the ipod when it's connected to the computer.
