Well then, touch sensitive buttons seems to be all the rage these days, but how do you find it at everyday use?
What about gaming?
Durability?
I've had a K850 for the last couple of weeks, and i'm struggling with it's keypad layout, how the h*** can i play games with it?
Am i old fashioned or are touch sensitive keys really that good?
Or is it just a gimmick?
The touchwhell on ipod's are also imo crap, it's just not that accurate!

:p

Generally,I hate touch-sensitive solutions, unless the keys gives tactile/vibrating/audible feedback. Some phones have audible/vibrating feedback but I prefer a tactile one
K850 & W960 don't have ANY feedback AFAIK which is so controversial

i voted for 'touch sensitive keys suck'. they have no real practicality, and can be highly annoying at times.

if touch screen keys are made right, and are easy to use, then its better, look at the lg chocolate, and the samsung u600,they look great without any keys sticking out!

on the current implementation, they SUCK big time! ask U600/K850 users on this one.

Otherwise i agree that the keys on like the chocolate suck big ballssss! :D

Real keys all the way. Just today I was playing with my friends U600. Great phone, great features (I have to admit I was a touch envious) but the touch sensitive keys ruined the experience. That alone made me glad to have the real keys on my D900i.

if touch screen keys are made right, and are easy to use, then its better, look at the lg chocolate, and the samsung u600,they look great without any keys sticking out!

But neither of them work particularly well with the touch keys. They're certainly not as good as proper keys anyway.

Well i've tested'em on k850 and i found them great, it makes you browse you phone faster and easer, but when it comes to playing games with it, it sucks but as long as i don't play games in my phone so i'll vote for Touch sensitive keys are great coz,i didn't face any problem when using it.

Interesting thread. It all depends really on the quality of how the device is made. If its cheapish and not so good ala LG Prada, Veiwty, K850 then no of course now. But if its like the iphone then yes nothing beats it!!!!!

Now unless youve used the iphone you have nothing to compare to so you wouldnt know what to benchmark let alone comment in this thread.

Well, i haven't tested iphone, the touch devices i've experienced are Samsung U600 and my own K850.
But more and more devices comes with these touch keys, just for the look of it, ok it looks nice, but in 95% of the cases, it's just a bad idea imo.
It takes longer time to use different app and you just get frustrated...
:p
I'm seriously considering throwing away my K850 for just that reason!
:mad::mad::mad:
But if all brands are moving in this direction, i'm not sure what i'm going to do.
Can anyone comment on this, is it just getting more and more touch buttons in the future?
:insane:

I think so ron.jeremy but not all are bad. The navi wheel on the n82, n81 is basically a touch sensitive button and that seems to work wonders even though ive not actualy used it. But I reccomend you use an iphone or ipod touch even if only just to get a sense of what its capable of as Apple really did get it right in that dept with the iphone. I cant comment on the U600 as ive never used it though but apart from that ive used most of them I think. 2 out of devices doesnt really bode well in terms of how many could be considered a sucess.

The iPhone boasts a touchscreen, not touch keys. It's different. And might I add it was magnificently designed on the iPhone.

Actually I voted for "OK", but now I think they suck, real keys are so much better.

Do you think that after having used K850 after while, you've come to this conclusion Robot?
Or in general?

I really love the 3 touchkeys on the bottom of the screen (K850i) however sometimes i get carried away and start pressing the icons as well, with no effect unfortunatly. :D

of course it about using K850 for a while & give U600 a test.
I need to look carefully at phone so I won't press wrong key or to make sure it has been pressed. I'm OK with K850 because there isn't any other phone I like more right now, but I prefer normal keys in my next "K" phone.

Does anyone not find the k850 keys sometimes fustrating ot use? Like your maybe hitting it a few times?

Gloves diffenbaker? Seriously? I mean what kind of an excuse is that.

Basically iphone is an example of how touch keys/screen is done and k850 is an example of how they shouldnt be done end of story. It will be interesting to see if Nokia can replicate apples user friendlines with the touch screen. No doubt they will put in the specs but its the interface usability is another thing altogether.

Real keys for me. The 'tactile feedback' which I get after pressing real keys is very important and useful for fast typing.

I think there are some benefits from touch screens in the phone. The first one for me is that the size of the screen is bigger (eliminating some real buttons in the surface of the phone). This and finger friendly usage like iphone for example give a real advantage for me. BUT Touch sensitive keys, implemented like E900 are not good at least for me(except for the look). I tray one and repeatedly touch the wrong buttons I have to put to much effort to use it right.

Any way for those who have used one, is iphone good for game?

Besides, (with real keys) when you are fully used to your phone's keypad, many times, you can knowingly press certain keys without having to look at them. This can be very handy.

I much prefer real keys because of the tactile feedback.

well to me touch keys are a novelty in mobile a phone, just like having the moon on stick hanging in your back yard.
its great on the k850 though, because its only 3 buttons and they are well placed, while on the chocolate its like pressing your table and expecting response on your PC
do they work with gloves?
