my guess from reading the forums here is that the g600 seems to hold the edge here, especially if one includes video capture, other options being the n95 8gb, i550, w960 and the 5610 xm. let me know what you guys think.

I would say 5610 XpressMusic

actually samsung B&O amplifiers amplify the sound which means that it produces louder output, but the amplification process causes some sound distortion. so you should ditch out the G600 and i550. when talking about sound quality.

N95-8gb and w960 have normal sound quality nothing revolutionary, N81 produces better sound than both according to eldar.

so, I'll agree with aleks on the 5610XM, it has the DAC-33 audio chip and a high quality 3mpx camera with AF. (not to mention the cheap price)

according to the smape review the i550 does not have the b&o system, and it reported that the sound quality was very impressive, thats why it was included, another one that can be added is the ku990

W960 - advanced Walkman Player and 3.2 MP camera with AF and flash :)

advanced Walkman Player
doesnt do squat. it is just a media player.even tho as much as i find w960 a complete phone as far as sound quality goes walkmans are still very much behind Nokia and Samsung.

the best mix of sound quality and camera wud be
u600 and 5610xm.

that's not the purpose of the B&O amp. the whole purpose of them is to keep a high quality at the maximum sound. other amps can sometimes distort at high volume.

I agree, I have a W810 before it was replaced by a W710. Excellent balance of good music player and camera. W610 is probably better though.

Believe it or not the 6500 Slide actually sounds great with decent headphones, (even the Nokia branded ones are good), & the camera is fantastic.

Otherwise the 5610 is most likely your best bet.

Those two mobile phones are similar in hardware, as I have learned.

if all reports are true it should, with nothing close.

I was talking about currently available phones. Of course the N82 would take this hands-down, it has better music and picture quality than the original and black dinosaur brothers.

Why? Is this now wrong to inform people mr moderator? He was asking about a view on G600, wasnt he?

island_paradise, I think that that "test" is just the usual mainstream newspaper tech tests - ie. done within half an hour, not putting a lot of effort in it.

And you're presenting it as if this was an extensive test done by experts with myriads of comparison pictures in all different environments possible, negating everything we've seen in other comparison reviews (more professional, I'd say, and surely more extensible) - when it presents ONE macro picture to draw all conclusions from

Sorry if you feel I am representing it that way. Fyi, i'm not related to them in anyway. I am merely stating an alternative view points done by normal non-tech savvy people. Maybe they have a point or two to share too cos not all buyers see gadgets based on technology view point. In fact I must say most probably majority of buyers do not get info from forums when buying their phones.

If I were a buyer of a phone and surfing info on net, I would rather have as many views as possible from all sources rather than stick to only few sources. I would rather let readers decide themselves. The more info the better, isn't it? Anyway when a person who look for info will read all the posts or related subjects rather than stick to my post only, right?

Is sharing info from other sources now wrong at MR? Can anyone from MR or the one who own this forum to anwer this question please? I need to know what is permitted and what is not.

so i am assuming then that for high end devices the n82 comes out on top, for the mid-high end the g600 and 5610 and for the mid price level the w610 or the u600.

Karim
26-11-2007, 03:36
5610 is more mid-end, it's only around 350 USD.
