Hi all,
I'm sorry if I've posted in the wrong section but I don't know where else to post.
I've this issue regarding a deleted video of me & a friend which is recorded on private about 2 months ago. Is there any way the video file can be retrieved?
The reason I'm asking is because my phone(it's a nokia N70) got stolen a few weeks back & I fear whoever that steal my phone will try to hack into the memory stick & come across the video. Is it possible to do that?
Hope someone can help me shed some light on this issue..
Thx a lot. :)

Yes they can, and its very easy, and there's at least 5 free softwares that I know of.

When files are 'deleted' they merely have a flag at either end of the file to let the software know that it can overwrite that area. Most of the time softwares will fill up empty space, and when thats all done, it THEN overwrites, so there is always that possibility, and your file is irretrievable.
You needed something like Eraser to overwrite particular files to make them almost impossible to retrieve.

Heres possibly the better of the retrieval softwares

and heres eraser

So if anyone finds this poor persons phone, do the decent thing and overwrite the file. :-/
