Problem with P1i internet browsing...

on some pages i enter there seems to be an xml problem or something...there are just a bunch of words or programs that appear...could this be an application problem that I need to upgrade to or something?

Could you explain in more detail? You should know that the format of the web site on phones is different from the actual full page layout you get on the computer. anyhow, do a back up and update your phone using SEUS if you think its a bug or another problem.

divooneh23, thanks for your reply....when I go to some pages, it shows on that page some parts but mostly...are in programs or something....

but these are the words on top of the page in bold letters

does an update fix this?

I know that my P1i version is just previous to the latest version...ex. I think mine is Version F while the latest is G

maop99 It's never happened to me, the only i thing i've ever seen is the text above the page when i enter gmail saying for a better experience usea fully supported html browser.
I would suggest an update (Dont forget to back up) too see what happens. the update also fixes a few other bugs, like the sms time stamp.
The latest version is R6E30(PDA), R9H004(Phone).

Thanks divoone, yes I think mine is G and the latest is H...what should I update? both pda and phone? I'm sure there are instructions at the site....

My phone is new, so no problem with upgrade (i have not even opened the CD included yet) maybe I have not installed the proper internet tools included in the CD? like opera or something? or is the opera already the default browser and already installed?

maop99, when u update using SEUS, it automatically updates everything.
Opera is Already installed and is the default browser so you dont need to install anything from the CD to the phone. the cd includes the PC suite and update service. you can also download them both from here; http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=global&lc=en&ver=4001&template=ps1&zone=ps

so run the update and hope it solves the problem. otherwise its just the website that doesn't support the browser properly, or that the browser cant handle that site as intended.

No, nothing wrong. It's just that the inbuilt browser can't interpret whatever it is the wap- gateway is doing with the code. So.. you can either use opera mini (it has an alternative rendering option, or something like that), or use different settings. The "data traffic" that isn't wap usually costs a ridiculous amount of money, though..
