I was looking around Ebay when I went to Ebay Germany and typed in Nokia 6500.

I was shocked to see the 6500 Slide & Classic for sale.

I am totally freaking out. I want one soooo bad. If anybody speaks German, would you mind asking him where he got it?

Is it most likely a prototype?

Most likely a Fraud , as it's not yet shipped by nokia as of yet !

even if it was real, 190 EUR is far below market value, it might be stolen

not a single actual photo of the phone.. just press released ones.. so scam for sure.. i dont even bother to go and translate with bablefish

Obviously a Scam, tons of them on ebay everyday, I've seen K850, W960, 6500, etc..

I talked to the guy, and he claimed to have gotten it form a friend in Asia, but he says it the phone is in German?? He also said that he won't have the phone until Friday.

Like you said Habeeb....not a single actual live pic. It does scream scam.

I am not gonna bid on it, just wanted to your guys take on the auction.

I will wait until I see it being sold from a reputable dealer. I got waaay more time than money.

I really feel sorry for those bidding on it. He also has a Classic.

Hopefully they pay only via PayPal or CC.

Using common sense, checking feedback (on related items, since there are people out there who have sold 1200 umbrellas and candlesticks on ebay with a 100% positive record just to commence making big money on real scams)
I have yet to be burned on ebay and have been a member since -04 (i think..)

I do agree with you ThreeX......I have never been burned on Ebay,but with this phone I want nothing to go wrong, so I would also have to agree with Steve78 on not buying this phone, (or any) from Ebay.

EDIT:

Now I am pissed cause' I remember wanting a black Siemens SL55, which I couldn't find anywhere, and cost me almost $300.00US and I bought one from Ebay, only to have the entire phone language in Farsi, and the Keypad was even Arabic numerals.

The ******* who sold it to me refused to take it back, even though the auction NOWHERE STATED that the phone was in Arabic.

luckily in Australia, there are plenty of reliable places to buy a phone on ebay (that doesn't mean there aren't any scammers, i know for a fact that there are plenty of fake N95's, and i saw a fake 6300 once)

i bought my 5140i from a shop with around 30000 feedback,and a proper address (where i picked up the phone)

i got the phone for very cheap (at the time) and with a proper Australian warranty, which i know was definitely true because i took it to a Nokia Care Center to get a firmware upgrade

I've seen a 6500 Slide here in Finland, might have been a Nokia employee.
