well, who knows? personally I'll be happy if they'd just release one last stable firmware version. It would be unrealistic to expect them to support the P990 indefinately.

they are still lots of unfixed bigs bugs in those phones... they should keep the firmware while the phones are still on sale and people are still using it.

Well...some of those "bugs" really aren?t experienced by all users, or are unimportant...you could easily make lists like that for any phone...

My guess is SE will focus on the really important ones

Anyway, i am really happy for this, we UIQ3 users united and made history in terms of relation with SE

most of them are cons and lack of features.
it happened in many models, for instance, K700 didnt support mp3 tones to set as msg alert, and they didnt bring it in new FWs.
lack of the features will launch in new models. (P1 or .. )

^ well lets at least I hope they will create a "Today" screen this time, shouldnt be too hard to implement. apart from that, there's a handful of bugs and unsolved issues to deal with.

the last firmware was obviously done in a half-assed way, probably because they were also busy developing the next gen smartphones and lacked the resources necessary to produce quality programming.

Wow, the bugs are nothing to scoff at for its latest F/W release. I think SE has a lot more on its hands and unless they put the right resources into it, a final upgrade this August might not be enough.

marvin, like i said the list is big, but in reality only 2/3 are really really important, and others are feature request...

the question is, i doubt the feature requests will be adressed by SE

i will demand an upgrade, but it won?t be software...but hey, i payed almost 700 euros one year ago, so i am entitled to

Funny thing how they point out how comitted and responsive to customer feedback they are. If they'r really so comitted they'll throw in a flashlight app in august ;-)

Am I right in assuming that the P990 was initially ment to last more than a year on the market, and that they release the P1 only because the P990 doesn't cut it?

what you guys need to do is to email or call SE with all the bugs you have with P990i and also recommend them improvements they need to make for their next P series. If you don't put pressure, you wouldn't get any results.

I spoke with SE support the other day, the guy sad that he think there will be another firmware for the P990 =) (after R6E28)
He wasn't 100% sure thou.....
