i really don't like it... but its really cheap considering the features, but the design its too weird for me.

lol... it reminds me alot of SIEMENS's fashion solutions called as XELIBRI phones released a few years ago.

by the way, the features are just fine but nothing special though, i mean camera-wise its OK for a middle class phone and it has rather a decent quality display too and possibly the phone seems pretty light too (only 82grams), but perhaps the main dissapointment would be the 700mAH battery that logically needs constant charging sessions lol

TBH - I really like it. Too bad it's only for China, would be a good secondary handset for going out etc...

what i'm surprised about is that it records VGA video, maybe this is a trend of S40 phones to come?

6233, 6280/8 recorded video in VGA as well.

i would like to see it used in more phones as well...[6500c?]

yeah, but i was hoping for all of the future phones to have VGA recording, but 6500 classic has QCIF

its very edgy! i like it.. the pointy diamond effect is nice..

nokia is one of the company who has the BALLS to show something new.. whether its good or a flop. i admire that.

I'm not sure about this one, it looks interesting, and the VGA video recording is a nice feature, but I don't really think that kind of keypad is anywhere near ergonomic. Guess it's like a successor to 7610.

well, it's successor of 7610's awkward keypad design at least. N72 has a normal keypad so it lacks the biggest special feature of 7610 :p

What CRAP are you all talking about by saying that the 7500 is 7610 and N72's sucessing model ? 7610 and N72 is a S60 Symbian phone while the 7500 is just a S40 model. I think it's right to say that it's 7360's successor

Nah.. The real 7610 successor is when we see an experimental design phone with high end specs.. When 7610 was new it was the first megapixel phone in many countries, the smallest S60 phone so far, fancy design, etc.. N72 was just a new cover for an old top seller.

yeah, the 7xxx series always meant either, experimental design (7500 Prism, 72xx series, etc), or experimental features (7600, 7710, 7610)

i miss the days when nokia put both into a crazy shell (like 7600) those phones were (and still are) amazing

This is Nokia's first series40 5th edtion based mobile device on the market!
Even high-priced 8600 Luna is still based on old series40 3th edition FP1..:D
However, 7500 prism won't be officially available in Europe.
In asia, the price is only about 210EUR.

Nokia 8100 !!!!

LOL (6300 repackaged)

This just shows how slow and fast the market is. This is the direct sequel to the Nokia 7250\i whose direct competitor at the time was the SET610 which was a blindside of compromises but packaged them elegantly. Also it is USB for universal charging in China(?) who suggested the standard in the first place (well globally at least, but it makes sense) just as microUSB becomes available!

The 5th Ed... (is promising?) the pic link am sure is not showing the 'xklooocive' themes. If they do not tie profiles with themes (& user changed personalisation) then this a technological balance in a mass market device, this wants to scream difficult keypad but is probably one of the most easiest given the triangular raise in some parts.

In an SE BT can be swithced off in 2 steps. In a Nokia it is 4 steps, using alternate keys, when it could be naturally less. The file manager has to have a more themed search parameters with tagging!

If they do go a bit edgy with theme/profiles with a simple switch back to 3rd Ed style... then they have a half sequel to the Nokia 6230i (which was supposed to be the sequel to the 6310i but ended up as a 7250 monobloc).

I like the idea of euro release releasing three handsets or in my dreamy eyes a 5 (kinda like the triangles on the keypad but then some are raised so like 5!!!)

7500 monobloc
7510 'lipstick' with 7280 cam (indexed 10 for the 1 looking like a lipstick)
7520 homage to 7200 flip
7530 7373 lineage form factor
7550 compact or square/pentagon design, v.svelte (flip blackberry, the market is now crying for this form factor after seeing how badly coloured the Pearl2 is, moto mistakes)

Remember this is fashion above all else to propagate a layer away from realising that we don't need half the features with finely balanced functionality for it to remain a constant for about 2 years. Please PTT button be customisable, nice idea Nokia but...

Oh and what should be a trusty joystick... SE + dirt = slow, Nokia = ? hope :)

The N72 nor the 7500 are the 7610 successors. The 7610 never had a successor, and it still technically in first for the fashion, S60 phone by Nokia.
The 7500 is a nice solution, it wont be expensive, and has decent features! The 7900 will be better, though!
