p990i wifi problem

hi everyone. i am having problem connecting wifi on p990i. on open network it is able to detect wifi connection and it also connects but after downloading 1.6 kb it gives can not connect remote server error. i hav tried everything but it gives the same msg. i m really enjoying this device but this problem is giving me sleepless nites. i have read on various forums people facing same problem. is it because of the slower b wlan on p990i ? my firmware is R517a. also on some networks it hangs my phone after connecting to it. the network signal vanishes. i have to reboot the ph. plz help otherewise i m switching back to nokia. lack of edge support leaves me with wifi the only option for faster data transfer.

Sounds something like a problem I had. There was one specific network that I could connect to but not use. But when I deactivated som energy saving mode in the phone it worked.
Got to the settings for the network account (the account config) and open the drop down menu (click top of the screen) and choose "Advanced".
