Henry is IMO the best footballer in the world, but not the most honorable man. He would do anything for money. I don`t know what will Arsenal do without him :(

I think he has a huge ego and that wont be missed in the Arsenal dressing room. He is however imo the finest foreign player to grace the Premiership. I just think with Etoo already moaning last season about rotation what now will he do this season.

Anyway I think Henrys transfer can be viewed as disloyal after pledging the rest of his career to Arsenal and signing a new contract only last year. However many including myself believe that his mind was already made up last year to after one more year to show hes not a total sell out. Signing the contract ensured Arsenal at least got a decent deal for him (similar to what Cashley Cole did when going to Chelsea)

However the face remains that there is little loyalty left in footy these days. In Italy and Spain players move between big clubs almost as if playing for them didnt mean a thing.

At the end of the day Arsenal are straped for cash having got a new stadium and David Dein leaving didnt help. Still if you place your position in a club on board members and a coach alone then you have to ask did the club itself not mean anything to him?

You never know he may flop there. Wenger chose the right time to ship of Viera and he didnt exactly shine the world alight there.

I think there are far too many egos at the Camp Nou and Henry being there will lead to another big name going next year. It looks nice on paper to have them all in one squad but stick too many big names together and sucess can be replaced with a destabalised squad. A good example of this is the Chelsea squad when they got Michael Ballack and Shevchenko. Who would have predicted that Peter Crouch would score more goals than him.

Ah the joy of football.

One thing is sure - half of Arsenal supporters will change their favorite football club, because of Henry, into Barcelona. Isnt' that sad? ;)
So Eto'o is going to share forwarding with Henry and from back they are going to have a support from Ronaldinho.
Liverpool:Barcelona - next Champions League final game :)

No player is bigger than the club. He will be missed, but injuries pending I think we can mount a strong challenge for the title this coming season, provided that everything doesn't start falling apart at the top.

I think if Wenger leaves we'll have a problem.. either way I, and all other true fans will remain loyal to the club.

Of course Arsenal can. I remember when Liverpool had just won the European Cup and Kevin Keegan left the club. Everybody was lost and wondering just how we would ever acheive any more glory and along came a little known Scottsman named Kenny Dalglish. Enough said........

Keeping Wenger is the key. I read today that for the last time he signed a new contract he waited until 8 months were remaining before commiting himself again and im sure he will sign another. He has bought many young promising players not just for the 1st team but for the reserves and im sure he will want to hang around to nurture them.

Sadley he will probabaly have to resort to using what he has publically breated in recent times - foreign investment.

No one wants it but as the saying goes "if you cant beat them , join them"

Arsenal do have some good young players, but selling your team captain and talisman is not generally a good idea.
Credit to Liverpool who hung on to Gerrard this time last year, and Man U were stupid to let Forlan and van nistelroy depart for peanuts too.

Yeah I think Fergies pride got the better of him with horseface but in the end he just won the league again so you cant argue with him.

Arsenal have a big gap to fill now and I for one hope they dont fill it ha ha lol

Sorry i had to say that. Its been 19 years since the League was at Anfield and I wanna see it back there again lol

Yeps I agree. And I hope they put in a good bid for Torres. What they need is a good start of the season.

And who's going to replace Henry at arsenal? They do need a heavyweight name to carry the team? Tevez, or maybe Eto'o will move. Barca is too heavy up front.

Even if the reds don't win this year I do hope they're in a photo finish for the title. A 3 or 4 way fight for the title down it the last match is something I want to see. Something like Spain or the netherlands this year.

Henry didn't really do anything last season. And I have always felt that Gilberto does a better job of being a captain. Having a striker as a captain is dumb anyway because they're always ahead of the rest of the team 90% of the time. Better to have a defender, keeper or defensive midfielder that can see everything that goes on.

I think we missed van Persie more than we missed Henry last season.. or should I say.. van Persie had more of an impact on the team than Henry did while they were fit.

Well i guess that news made pool and spurs fans day!
I am gutted that he went for a measily 16 million, for goodness sakes thats daylight robbery, anyway the task is keeping fabregas and wenger now so they can mount a decent challange in the next few years.
and arsenal isnt sinking, it is growing stronger and better.

Why do people keep saying that when the Arsenal board have on numerous occasions said that money is not the issue.

Henry was just a man, like everyother man except he can kick a ball around rather well, this heor worshipping that goes on these days is silly. So he wanted to leave and he did, we move on buy a few new players and prepare for the new season

I know a lot of people, who can be compared to those Chelsea fans. They change their minds every two weeks and the team they support depends of what players and actual TOPleague position the club has.

We have guys like that on here, soon as Nokia creates a top device, THEN they support Nokia, but if someone else creates a decent device, they switch allegiances in a flash!!
I support ALL Lancashire teams BTW.

Itachi

Supporting a football team and mobile phone preferences cant really be compared.

All I can say for those fans are that they arnt real fans. I simply cant fathom how anyone could do such a thing. Yet I can imagine quite a few new Chelsea fans popped up from nowhere when the Roubles came rushing in.

Being a brand fan is ludicrous.. who walks down the street laughing at other people because they're not wearing Levi's jeans?

If people ignored the name, and judged each phone as it is, this forum would be a much easier place to moderate. ;)

Back on topic: I wonder what reception Henry will get if he comes back to the Emirates for a Champions League match or something. I respect him as a man and a player, and appreciate everything he did for us and the Premiership in the 8 years that he was with us. But I can't help feeling a little sick and angry when I read stories about how delighted he is to join Barca.

The fans should be mad at the board members not Henry. Henry perhaps in the top2 or 3 strikers in the world so its only natural he wanted a new challange.
