I thought I'd make a topic about different music players. I don't mean iPods or phones or anything, but the "real" music players most people have at home.
I'll start off by asking opinions about the Yamaha PianoCraft Hifi-Systems. Since it's my birthday tomorrow I'll be getting the Yamaha PianoCraft MCR-E810.

My old and cheap Philips is only "reading disc" so decided to get something better... Anyway, does anyone have any experience or know anything else about this system or Hifi-systems in general?
Any more audiophiles out there? :D
I'm more of a MP3 guy, so I only have a MP3 player and my laptop with music ...

I wouldnt call myself an Audiophile, but I refuse to have an mp3 player and prefer my minidisk for portable music. It also doubles up as a very high quality stereo recorder for the music events I frequent.
Your birthday present looks superb, hope its all you wanted, and more

Well now when I've got my stereo, I'd like to have an external subwoofer aswell since there is subwoofer out on the system and the bass doesn't really blow my mind. So, can anyone recommend anything? I'd like to have something under the 300 euro mark, nothing fancy really. Just as good price/quality ratio as possible. And it's purely for music listening. Thanks!
my PC is my music system... :D (MP3s)
just have a Creative SB3 live with 5.1 speakers.. does the trick for me !

No audiophiles? :(
What about an Arcam A80 with Acoustic Energy Acoustic Evo 3 connected to Arcam CD73 as a source of pure CD music? :) Heapdhones? - Beyerdynamic DT 860, I really like them, cool and very detailed sound.
Imho sound coming from most mobiles is impossible to listen in terms of quality... Yes, I Accept mp3, but with bitrates >256kps. Generally I prefer CDs or Ogg Vorbis files, sometimes a good vinyl is better than any CD.

only sometimes? :D
Get a good pressing early on in the life of an album and you will almost certainly get better audio fidelity than a CD.
Oh those halcyon days.
