View Full Version : Restore all the files that were on the phone originally
Hello
Is there a way to restore all the files that was on the phone when you bought it, if you delete some of them? Something like a reset feature that restore it back to the condition it was when you bought it. The phone I could need it for is a SE W610i.

If you update it Via seus I believe it restores the original settings, albeit with new firmware (if it available) If there's no new firmware you should get the option to install it anyway.
If you have already deleted the original files, you have nothing to loose by doing a master reset BACK UP YOUR PERSONAL DATA THOUGH if that doesnt do it then download and do a SEUS
Well, SEUS says there's no available updates I think...

Does it not give you the option to install anyway? if so then make sure you have a fully charged battery, and only do so if you have a stable connection to the internet.
Did you try a master reset?
Ok, haven't deleted anything yet, it was more of a theoretical question... But if I delete something(pictures, ringtones) etc. that was on the phone when I bought it they will be back if I do this?

It should do, but not the free stuff that the providers put on, like music tracks etc. I remember one or two SE phones that had some Robbie Williams tracks on them.
Ok, but is there a way to make backup of it or something? So I can kind of "restore" everything back to the way it was/is now?

MyPhoneExplorer available here

will possibly do what you want, although I havent had to do so and therefore cant verify it.
It will allow you to archive most of your phone, but not the games already installed, although the Original ones (From S-E) will be restored as will all the pictures and sounds from SEUS (This I know , cos I have done it)Im not sure any provider ones will. MP3's can be extracted with this software
Well, I can't transfer the files because the program doesn't work in File Transfer mode...
EDIT: Btw, aren't most of the files like ringtones etc. pack into system files that you can't see?

Most of the time yes, but it is possible to remove them, however with a SEUS update, they all come back anyway.
Drag and drop wont work, but ctrl c / ctrl v works, and I guess ctrl x will too!
Ok, I can't get to move them with ctrl-c/ctrl-x, but anyway... so if I delete them I can restore it all back to how it was with just running the firmware update program on my PC?

Yes, the original SE files only, any addons (games pictures mp3) from the provider WONT be restored.
I know this because I have upgraded my partners D750 to a W800 and she got all my games and pictures that came with my phone.
What files etc are you trying to move, I will admit some of my stuff wont move, you'll need FAR manager for that, but I have no idea as to how to use it....
Ok, but I haven't gotten anything from my provider, so that's not a problem. :) (hooray for a phone without fucked up non-deletable files with their logo on)
