My friend just got a a new w800. But he has a problem with it. The back light is not coming up. Pls what can I do?

Maybe the Backlight is off So try to check it's Display Setting Or Return it if it's faulty !

thanks. I've checked the display settings and it is at the brightest but still the backlight does not come up.

May be its the software. What do you think?

Do try this out> Try to format your phone by typing this on your keypad
> * < < * < *
Where < or > are directions on the joystick, and * is the bottom left hand button on the keypad.
Or go to menu >phone setting then master reset !

Take it back and politely ask for one that works

go to camera and click in (*) the lghit should come

It's faulty, take it back for a replacement.
