This is gonna be one of the most interesting seasons of the last 10-15 years. The domination of Michael Schumacher is gone. Some are still celebrating and others are still crying (what about you?). Well... new season, new teams, new drivers, new rules, only 1 tyre supplier (Bridgestone), and a lot of questions! And time will tell.
- There are more title canditades this year. Who will win the Drivers championship this year? Will it be Massa, Kimi, Alonso or one of the outsiders Fisichella and Button?
- And/or will this be the year of the Rookies Hamilton and Kovalainen?
- How will teams like Spyker, Toro Rosso and Super Aguri do? Will it be suprisingly good or bad?
- And what about Toyota, Williams, Honda and BMW? How did they during the wintertests? Have they closen the gap to the top, or are they still struggling?
- Last but not least, who will win the Constructors Championship? Ferrari, Renault, McLaren or an other team?
I can't wait till the new season starts. Lets all hope for a safe, interesting, thrilling and with lots of ups and downs of a new season of F1.
Coulthard for the championship!

i dont support 1 driver, but i think this year will be the year of Kimi, at least i hope so. because he deserves it after some horrible years at McLaren.
Yawn - another boring year of F1 racing and pathetic TV coverage - Touring Car Racing rules :jump:
Ferrari will launch their car tomorrow cant wait for it.
Who do you think will win championship? I think it will be between Ferrari drivers. We'll find out when both kimi and Massa test their cars later this month.
Kimi all the way! :) 2007 is his year!
kramah, nice work
Obviously hoping that Hamilton or Button have a good season at this end. :)
ty faw :)
i think we might see a few suprises this year. especially from the rookies hamilton an kovalainen. i think they might become the new alono's and kimi's within 2-4 years. they will make a lot of mistakes this year, but we will see them also 1 or maybe more then twice on the podium, imho.
mweb6161, you never know with button... he's been knocking on the door for a few years now. if honda makes a good car this year... and the way Button has been constistent over the past years... he IS a good outsider, imho.

Anyone see the new Renault colours? This year's clown? Can't wait to see Kovalainen and davidson too. Should be a nice season, don't even know who has a shot at the title. Kimi, or Massa? Alonso in a Mclaren? Button?

Pardon the irrelevance of my post. But I have to say I've never really seen someone with a square face. :D I mean a really square face complete with corner angles and all. :D

This year is going to be interesting looking at the test results, Super Aguri beating honda, wow. Honda is really looking bad. Just imagine Torro Rosso beating ferrari :p
Anyone here know how to get F1 in the middle east? Last season was on Aljazeera sport but this year melborn isn't on their broadcast schedule and I can't find any other channel that i can think of.

So I'll be siding with the japanese super cucmbers :p Can't decide on anyone else though, BMW maybe.
Is anybody watching F1 right now?
first four is: raikkonen, hamilton, alonso and kubica ;)
edit.
Kubica lost his place ;((
i'm going sleep. i expect raikkonen will keep 1st place ;)
Well I've always rooted for the Finns on the McLlaren - first Mika and then Kimi for the driver championship. And the Mclaren for the Constructors. Now I am torn on which team to root for - Kimi in Ferrari or McLaren with Alonso. :-/
Oh well, congrats to Kimi for taking the Australian grand prix. Nice auspicious start for Kimi in the Ferrari team.
Great race, Kimi and Ferrari were superior
Who's your favourite driver and what's your favourite team!
Kimi and Ferrari! They both showed their quality today! :)
I hope on the 8th of April Massa wont be so unlucky and we get to see a nice race between the two Ferraris and a 1, 2 at the end! We dont wanna lose the constructors to Mclaren...
at the end of the race before the podium you see jean todt passing a mobile phone to kimi... someone can rcognize the phone?
i think vertu ascent
we later knew it was micheal schumacher on the phone calling for congratulations

We dont wanna lose the constructors to Mclaren...
Ofcourse we want that!;)
We want to Kimi won drivers championship and McLaren constructors!
Btw great race by Kimi!
The fun thing on the press conference:
Q: Well, you set fastest lap but we also saw you have a bit of a moment at turn three towards the end of the race; talk us through that.
Kimi:I just locked a wheel. I was looking at something else, not putting in too much effort.
LOL:rotate:
Excellent race by kimi, proving his mettle as lead driver, Hamilton podium finish in his 1ST GP(please name me anyone else who has ever achieved that)!!
Excellent race by kimi, proving his mettle as lead driver, Hamilton podium finish in his 1ST GP(please name me anyone else who has ever achieved that)!!
yeah, great race from Hamilton!! he's got some talent! i knew he was good. but i didnt expect a podium place in his first race.
err.... Jacques Villeneuve in 1996, also in Australia. he almost finished first, but couldn't push anymore because of a small problem. Damon Hill won the race btw.. but you are correct mweb6161, we haven't seen this for a long time.
i think Hamiltons acievement is bigger then villeneuve's, because he is younger and less experienced then villeneuve at the time.
We want to Kimi won drivers championship and McLaren constructors!
We'll have to see about that!
Indeed Hamilton was impressive! He is younger than me and for a first race in F1 he did pretty good, considering who he was compteting with. He did start with a very strong car though. :)
Also the polish driver, Kubica, is very promising!
Everyone seems to be disregarding the GREAT race Massa had

in 1989 nigel mansell won his first race with ferrari
jacques villeneuve in 1996 australia was at his first ever race in formula 1... but he didn't win at the end..
Everyone seems to be disregarding the GREAT race Massa had
You are absolutely right. I was always under the impression that Kimi was better than Massa but I might be proved wrong this year! Its going to be an exciting battle between the two! :)
Coulthard will silence all of you, just wait and see.... :D

He's in a fast car, look at kimi's pace, and did a one stop race, where's the greatness? Or actually can his acheivement out shine Hamilton's performance on his F1 debut?
Kimi & Ferrari all the way!!!

I'd like to see a couple more races first before I make a statement like that. It might end with Kimi and Mclaren.
Today's training in Malaysia- best time and 92 rounds driven by Kubica. Raikonnen was second.

Malaisia Grand Prix:
1. Alonso (McLaren-Mercedes)
2. L.Hamilton (McLaren-Mercedes)
3. K.R?ikk?nen (Ferrari)
Great Race indicating a HOT season
Yeah fantastic stuff on a Sunday morning FAW, much better IMO than the boring drivel on TV on easter sunday.
Alonso CAN win in another teams car, Hamilton gives us Brits something to smile about too!!

Hamilton did all the work imho. Sure Alonso looked fast but was mainly due to hamilton keeping it tight. Massa probably was saying sh*t so many times after failing to pass hamilton and going on to the grass. Hamilton really played it well massa was too jumpy. And boy could kimi be any more boring?

Fantastic race, one of the best in last...I don't remember!
Great drive by Hamilton,I couldn't bealive what he had done to Massa!
Coulthard is on fire in Bahrain, starting from last and attacking the big boys! What a race so far... :)
Edit: He has technical problems apparently, and retired... :(
What a shame, what a shame! From 21st to 7th place, he could have attacked Alonso!
Damn I missed a good race, I really like this season

Well Hamilton's made history, three podiums in first three races of career. Now who wants schumi back? You definaitely can't beet a four way fight for the title.
BMW doing quite nicely, nick hiedfeld was awsome, best overtake in the race, beeting Alonso. Now we really need to see him on the podium. BMW has a chance, the season is still early. Kubica though I'm not sure, last season when he stated he looked real competitive. Of course the BMW was slower and always found itself in a pack and that's where Kubica looked good. Now he doesn't have the pace to catch up with his the top 5 but no one else has the pace to catch him.
Now one team that's nice to watch is williams. No points but the guys are neck and neck, they almost crashed each other at least a couple of times.
What can I say this season rocks.
Kubica though I'm not sure, last season when he stated he looked real competitive. Of course the BMW was slower and always found itself in a pack and that's where Kubica looked good. Now he doesn't have the pace to catch up with his the top 5 but no one else has the pace to catch him.
In my country (Poland) people make jokes about BMW-Sauber's team errors inside Kubica's vehicle ;) First time something wrong was with Shift Stick. In Malaysia everything was wrong, even radio didn't work. Jokes look like: What German's are going to do, to stop Kubica this time? and the answers are like "They'll grab his steering wheel" or "They'll put his helmet on the wrong side on his head"
In Bahrain, Kubica decided to choose the training F1 BMW-Sauber's car and thanks to it, he was finally 6th ;)

Of course both cars are never exactly the same. But it is weird when one driver's car is always worse. Of course that could change through out the season.
I think ferrari or mclaren will be champion of 2007..
Spanish Grand Prix Results:
1. Massa
2. Hamilton
3. Alonso
That means Hamilton is leading the drivers championship after only 4 races in to his F1 carrer.
1. Hamilton 30pts
2. Alonso 28 pts
3. Massa 27 pts
4. Raikkonen 22pts
Who do you think is going to win the championship its looking very tight at top 4. After seeing Hamilton drive in GP's i wouldn't bet against him.
Spanish Grand Prix Results:
1. Massa
2. Hamilton
3. Alonso
I would say:

And the biggest achievement was probably Takoma Sayo's point. It also was the toughest fight of the race. Hieki seemed to fly, maybe because he knew of his misadvantage going with a 3 stop strategy. Coultard was good too, I just doubt it will happen too often. Somewhere, maybe top gear, I read Hamilton is undefeated in Monaco, he's never raced there in F1 but still it would be nice if it were to hold. :) So far he's the smoothest and most consistent of the top four.
Monoco Grand Prix Results
1. Alonso
2. Hamilton
3. Massa
4. Fisi
A Maclaren 1 2 may be they have got the better car then Ferrari. They have certainly improved their relibility, 5 races in to this season and it hasnt broken down even once. Roll on the Canadian GP
One thing is for sure: Hamilton will be always second :D
Go McLaren :)
A double win, hope carries on like that :D:D:D
Hamilton does a goed job in his first season. I hope he can beat Alonso :)

But unless ayone else gets to be as consistent as he, then he might win the title. He actually was really unlucky. His missed the pole because of traffic and well it was monaco what do you expect? And I really want to see him win though.
Next week I'm going to experience F1 racing live in Montreal :)
The most enjoyable moment of the race is the 1st turn IMO =P Lots of crashes =D ... Its also nice to see the pit lane workers making a mistake :P like not screwing the "wheel-screw" tightly :P or the lollipop-man making a mistake and , while trying to stop the driver , hits the lollipop on the driver's head :P
that has to be amazing :D
i'm going to see qualifications, training and main race.
hank05 - where did You go to see F1? Can I bring my camera with me on a race time?
if anybody was watching F1 qualifications - he could see me in tv :)
i was the one in red shirt with polish flague :) i was zoomed after showing Kubica, for around 10 seconds :)

That was quite a race.
Poor Kubica, the worst crash since Ralph in US, luckily escaping with a broken leg while it looks like Vettel will replace him. Driver of the Day- SATO, can you imagine him overtaking Alonso on a far inferior car, though he was on hard rubber, still a big big slap to two times world champion. Looser of the Day- Massa and Fisi, passing a red light at the end of a pitlane, while Kubica waited.
Cheers
EDIT: Latest info from the hospital is that Kubica is unhurt. Now is that lucky or what?
very glad kubica is unhurt, now i think BMW should give him some time off and bring on the vettel. Lets c what he can do.
Still smiling this morning with the thought of Sato overtaking Alonso... :)
Poor little guy...
mustafabay
11-06-2007, 10:28
Actually I think Alonso's car wasn't in perfect condition, he probably damaged something going off-road one time too many. After all he had been pushing behind Kimi and then he dropped off, he wouldn't do that willingly. But none the less go Sato.
sidneylopsides
11-06-2007, 11:48
He was exploring off road at turn one quite bit, made his own path through there!
I love the fact that Hamilton in his 1ST season, pops up from nowhere, and shows everyone else the way home!!:D

mmm... the straight line speed of the BMW's are surprisingly good this year, makes them very strong in high speed circuits (like what they showed in montreal). They're almost as strong as the mclarens and ferrari's.
For sure, it'll be an interesting Indy race next week.
cheers!
haha, I saw you for sure buddy, a big smile on your face that wouldn't go away. Thumbs up for Kubica, quick too..
really? :D :D :D where did you see it?
that was an incredible feeling. i was standing in 3/4 of a tribune and then looked on the camera operator. he was starring at me and telling me to stay in same position :D so i was showing him my polish flague and then i saw myself in a huge telebeam :D everybody was clapping hands, especially polish and bmw-sauber fans :D :D
is that true that 350 mln people watched that around the world? :D
kubica is a tough guy. he'll be ok. however if the same accident could occur 10 years ago, like senna did - he would die. traction control, belts for head and whole body makes drivers safe.
mustafabay
12-06-2007, 11:30
I really like the idea of BMW getting in there and messing things up with ferrari and Mclaren. A win would be nice but I suppose Mclaren will have Indianapolis in their bag.
Boy this year is grat there's a lot of competition on all levels, now if only spyker would be replaced with something better like Audi :) Next year we get prodrive which lately bought Aston Martin if I'm correct. Go everybody.
Yes I get I spelled it wrong and I do realise that in racing Austin or Steve Martin would probably produce the same performance :D

Second training Vettel didn't really shine and it looks like a mclaren front line and kimi not sure for second line as I really don't have much confidence in him anymore.
sidneylopsides - i bet it was rather morgan or triumph, more than ASTON :P
Kubica is my favorite, but I wish Vettel to do his best.
mustafabay
16-06-2007, 23:24
ASTON
You're mixed up like I was Austin and Aston are two differnt breeds. And I'm pretty sure its not a morgan since I don't thin morgan changes its designs ever and that's not a new one.
Where's vettel from? And I hope I don't slip to vittel :p
And YAAY Hamilton again in pole. Hope Heidfeld gets past at least on ferrari at the start. And I hope there's a lot of action tomorrow as I really would like to see sato with points again. Heiki split the BMWs

He's from Germany. And that's why I worry that Polish guy won't survive among two German drivers in German team, which is BMW, connected to Swiss Sauber.
Final positions after lap 73 of 73:
1 Hamilton (McLaren)
2 Alonso (McLaren)
3 Massa (Ferrari)
4 Raikkonen (Ferrari)
5 Kovalainen (Renault)
6 Trulli (Toyota)
7 Webber (Red Bull)
8 Vettel (BMW Sauber)

I wouldn't worry quite yet as Kubica seems better then Vettel for now. Yesterday Vettel wasn't shining but heck it was his first race.
I'm interested to see if Hamilton can win races out of North America...
If he can take pole then sure.
What do you guys think, who will win tomorrow's race in Magny Cours, with a 90 percent chance for rain?

I think Kubica will sneak from 2 line through slicing Ferraris and Mclaren and will get 1place :)

Go Robert! I hope he'll jump to first three :)
Hope Alonso does something good at start, then maybe another double win for McLaren  (at least I hope so)
Edit:OK, things don't go so sweet :D
Silverstone results:
1-Raikkonen
2-Alonso
3-Hamilton
btw massa did a great job as well, however happy that he had problems at start, otherwise there could be a double-win for ferrari :insane:
Hamilton had a serious accident yesterday. I hope that he will be OK.
m.h, we know that he wants to race, but atm it's unclear if he will. If he does, he'll race from 10th, as opposed to 5th.
Hamilton will race, he got the green light from the organizers.
DUNGA, didn't know he got the all clear, cheers :)

Nice race too bad we don't get that many wet ones.
As usual Coulthard man of the race, with an incredible 5th place... ;)
1. Alonso
2. Massa
3. Webber
5. COULTHARD!
A race with floods, topsy turvy throughout... Controversial collision between Alonso and Massa, it will continue to be an exciting F1 year.... :)
Heidfeld is a piece of jealous pig. while kubica got a great start after passing nick, he pressed pedal and hit kubica's back. it caused that both of them were out of race and started chasing everybody til they got 6 and 7th places...
;/
raikkonnen DNF :D
so do u guys think the finish of racing this year might be solved among hamilton-alonso-massa or somebody else?
One of the funniest races I've ever seen, specially that curve when it was raining hard and 5-6 cars just flew out

How come only Hamilton got help from a crane?!?!
FAVORISM
EDIT: "The rules clearly state that the marshals can give assistance to a driver when his car is in a dangerous position"
Craning him back on the track isn't dangerous?!!!

I think the key thing is if their engines were still going, if you release the clutch and your engine shuts down your out and he didn't have any contact with the other cars or walls so he was ok.
Another great win for Hamilton :D
Funny how this thread is quieter this year with Ferrari taking a beating and Schui retired.
Well, we will soon be having a NEW king of F1 crowned!!
What a thriller in Chinese Grand Prix.
Roll on Brazil, longest two weeks of the season.
OOOOOOHHHHHH MMMMYYYYYY GGGGGOOOOOODDDDD
Very interesting race. Kinda unexpected win , but it was very exciting ;)

My congratulations to everyone!!!!!! FANTASTIC RACE!!!!!
Great ending to a great season, nobody expected Kimi to win the championship not even the most optimistic gamblers... Very historical! Now it will be a painful wait for F1 action!
P.s: I worked up a great appetite seeing as Alonso lost, what a relief! :)
There is news online here in Germany that FIA investigates against BMW and Williams because of too low fuel temperature. If the pilots lose their points, Hamilton would be fourth and become world champion.

Granted that there is a tiny possibility that there will be certain twists, unless they are extremely biased with Hamilton, Kimi is pretty safe...

Did you know that he was the son of the disgraced British fascist leader, F1 will be the better for his retirement, sooner the better IMO.

Poor Max, I did not know that. But the sins of the fathers shall be visited upon the children? What a fascist thing to imply mweb6161!
Maybe his troubled family history is the source of the strength of character he is showing by taking on the British gutter press by not jumping on the Hamilton bandwagon.
Oh yeah Phony i forgot your from Finland, that puts you in the perfect position to give a neutral opinion on the topic!!:insane:
As the bible says, "take the plank of wood out of your own eye" before you accuse others of bias or anything else for that matter!!
The Renault team have confirmed Fernando Alonso and Nelsinho Piquet as their racing drivers for the 2008 season.

Really looking forward for the next season. Two Finnish drivers in the top two teams!
Has there been any significant changes in the rules for the next season? Banning traction control was one?
