hi i was planning to buy an i-mate sp5. Can you tell me how is the multimedia experience on the phone?? How is the sound quality when song is played on loud speaker ?????
I've just replaced my Qtek 8310 with a SonyEricsson M600 and I'm glad I did. I had some smaller issues with the qtek that made me realise that WM5 phones are for those who wants a PDA with some phone features. That's not me, I want a phone with PDA features like the M600 has.
When it comes down to multimedia on wm5 phones they usually are very good. They all have Windows Media Player and that is a pretty good application. It's easy to sync music/videos between WMP in Windows and on the phone.
So, if you want a multimediaplayer with phone features WM5 devices are still OK. Though I would still prefer a M600 even though it lacks WiFi and a camera. The camera in sp5 isn't very good... :-/

I'm sorry but I think I did. One of his questions were, "Can you tell me how is the multimedia experience on the phone??"
If you have a look at my answer again you'll see that I answered that question!
odelsteken, The camera in sp5 isn't very good... Breeze is a great improvment ;)
the sound quality out of loud speaker is ok . The sound lacks the bass element becuase it comes out of the small hole at the top of the phone. The sound is loud accroding to me but not as loud as E398 but certainly equal to W810i (though the quality is poorer). The sound from it headphone is very good, as good as you get from E398, N70, even N91, but lacks a little bit of bass , treble is quite hight. enjoy listening to music on that bcz it can play alot of formats mp3, wma, wav etc etc.

I saw already some camera pictures made by the HTC TyTN / Breeze but I wasn't impressed at all, the quality is still really crappy and the camera quality of HTC's Smartphone line can't meet ANY of the competitors. They are really way behind with their MS Smartphone devices. There is just only one (!) device with 3G announced and it isn't even on the market yet. There are no models with good cameras and there one kind of device with Wireless LAN. (considering that Qtek 8300/8310 are more or less the same)
If you don't like Windows Mobile Pocket PC phones with touchscreens (more PDA than phone, like Odelstreken said, have to agree with that) then you're done with HTC. The Qtek S200 delivers much better camera quality, and so will do the MTeoR which has built-in 3G also. Quite a world of diffence with the Smartphone product line. But they are still PDA's with the phone just considered as a small add-on, a function which is not integrated good enough.
But to stay ontopic, the speaker quality of the iMate SP5 / Qtek 83xx isn't quite exiting, just as exiting as the crap inbuilt camera it has. Just the same for the Qtek 8500, it has even a poorer speaker. A mice can even fart louder! Sound trough the headset if OK until you'll listen music with the headset of a Nokia N70, N91, N80 or SonyEricsson W800/W810/W900.
Both Nokia and Sony Ericsson are much better in sound quality and speaker performance, aswell far ahead in cameras comparing to HTC. Isn't the Nokia E60 or SE M600i an alternative for you, as SP5's camera is worthless :)
