mean when ever i try using the stylus to select something it select somthing eles It's probably the crappy T-Mobile firmware.

how can i use mp3's as ringtones coz i hate the rington i have nowAgain, probably a restriction on the crappy T-Mobile version. But there's probably a way round it as there usually is...

On the i-mate version, it's possible to upgrade the software via the pc, u should try to find out if that's possible with the Vario.

right. few things:

qtek 9100 is a realy good phone if u know what you are doing.

here we go:

get rid of that firmware that came with it. upgrade it. www.xda-developers.com have some lovely articles about what to do and all that with it... i highly recommend it.
so far i havent been able to use an mp3 as a ringtone (i havent tried it actually - i used the native wma file that u put in windows/rings folder . i have an audio convertor so its no bother to me...

like i said, try the forum there...good help.

Cheers!

Cool software i use is ms voicecommand 1.5, a really good app that allows you to control your device by talking to it!
Also use the core media player for all ur movies etc, its very good.

I wouldnt recommend changing to an imate version as it will void your warranty. an easy way to bypass the t-mobile customisation is this:
1. hard reset the Vario
2. Follow all the steps, like screen allignment
3. press the Soft reset button the moment a t-mobile thing appears on the screen opening and installing stuff
4. Now you just have a plain vario, no other crap on it!

For using mp3's as ring tone you have two options:
1. just click on the song you want and then select set as ringtone from the menu that appears(if you click on it for long enough)
2. Copy the song and paste it in the Rings folder in Windows. Now you can select it at the same place where all the usual ringtones are.

a hard reset is done in the settings menu. select clear memory(or something like that) and follow the instructions.
