LG Electronics Posts Record Handset Shipments in October
SEOUL, Nov 20 Asia Pulse - South Korea's LG Electronics Inc. (KSE:066570) today said it exported more than 3 million mobile phones in October, a new monthly record.
The company said handset shipments in October rose 22 per cent year-on-year to 3.03 million, far higher than the 2.15 million average.
LG Electronics said the figures were achieved on the back of solid growth in demand in the U.S., Europe, India and Russia.
In the first 10 months of this year, the company sold a total of 21.5 million phones and expects to sell more than 26 million handsets for the year, up 60 per cent from 2002.
