In the running financial year 2003/04 (beginning: 30th September) Siemens like in the previous year wants to put on the market at least 29 new mobile phone models. Mobile radio-chief Rudi Lamprecht announced this on Wednesday in Munich.

Lamprecht counts in 2004, besides, on a clear growth of the mobile phone world market about five to ten per cent. After approximately 470 millions sold devices Siemens wants to develop his(its) share of the market in the mobile radio business farther and places, besides, first of all, on regions beyond Europe.

In the run off(In the expired) quarter Siemens had made good lost ground(bottom) and had sold 12 million mobile phones. The share of the market rose so from finally 7.5 on more than 9 per cent. In the whole financial year sold Siemens 39 million mobile radio-devices, this there were 18 per cent more than in the year previously.

Lamprecht passed on, it has been a mistake to place with the fashion mobile phones produced by Siemens of the brand(stamp) Xelibri only on the sales in boutiques and department stores. The trend mobile phones should be offered in future also about the classic sale channels. Besides, the family brand Siemens should give special emphasis more. Lamprecht appeared convinced(satisfied) that the Xelibri draft will assert itself: " Who enters no risk, nothing will reach. "

The SX1 was announced in Febuary.:D It just hasn't gone on sale yet, that's all. The SX2 will probably be announced in the third or fourth quarter.

Mmmm....SL65. Nice.:) If the rumours about it having a 262,000-colour display turn out to be true, there'll be a lot of rejoicing at Club-Siemens.;)

also it would be 2 smartphones - SX2, and WM2003
also it would be version of SX1 for WCDMA

That is not good news from SE,if this true.
That will more marketshare only decraese.

Nokia,Samsung,Siemens or even LG will pass SE again,again and again.

i think the lineup from se covers all areas from cheap phones that are only for calling (t100) to high-tech best of the best phones(p900)
so i don't really see the need for more phones, and i certainly don't wan't to see nokia tactics (producing six almost indentical models)they have already done a t630 which is in my opinion a waste of time, i mean what's the point if t650 is going to be introduced on cebit?
I'm talking a litlle selfish now because they are probably going to increase sales with t630 but as a consumer i don't think we need it and therefore i don't think we need more than 10 models each year.....

i'm sure that SE will better hich tech phone will release instead of many models,like Nokia.

I think that SE play monopoly if UMTS will come"ericsson's network" :D you know providers buying Ericssons networks.

umm are you talking about that prototype with a ms duo and a splashed se logo on the screen? if so, it seems to me that it didn't had a touchscreen so i don't think it was a p900, oh and can you please show us a pic because i don't really know what do you mean....

if SE dont release more than 10 new fones then they will never catch up 2 nokia and samsung etc...thats how nokia is at the top of mobile sellers

On every website there were the same pics... but a couple of months ago (near 10 months ago) I saw a website with different pics... the device was actually turned 'on' and some other pics were there (the side, back side). It is a long time ago and due to renewed my pc I lost the bookmark and I dunno the website or how it looked like (software).

It would be quite interesting to know what you have seen Eldar - just because I've never heard about S65 Clamshell Proto :D
I only know that prototypes of the S65 in classical candybar form factor exist, so I guess we'll see what the S65 really looks like in a few weeks ;)
