Since the mobile-review group has change the layout of the site...Now that we can clearly see the number of posts of each brand.....Do u think it represents the popularity?
At the moment:
1. Nokia
2. SE
3. Samsung

i dont think so at all

SE has been the most popular brand among members on this forum for a long time altho i much prefer nokia i dont think it is the most popular brand here...

i think new members (no offense) only really know about nokia.i mean obviously they have probably heard of the other brands but i think they only care about nokia until they realise that there r other brands and they mite like better than nokia...

btw i think this should be in the flame section

Samsung and SE are definitely the favourites of this forum. I favour Siemens, but it isn't nearly as popular as SE here.
IMO Nokia only has more posts here because they've got more phones. The fact that SE with less than half the number of phones on sale now has a number of posts that rivals Nokia says alot about its popularity here.
Personally I think SE is over-hyped.

Yes, and I really don't understand it. There's nothing special about SE that sets them apart from other brands. Sure, one could say that they always have the best technology and features in their phones, but remember that Ericsson was just like that, and hardly anyone respected Ericsson back then. But then it comes back with a cool new logo and a bit of Sony style and suddenly it's the best brand in the world.
Over-hyped indeed.

So Nokia is not over hyped then?
Nokia is the shittiest brand you can deal with today...

nokia sells 45,000,000 compared to sony ericcson 7,000,000

explain y nokia is the shittiest brand there is.i think SE is the shitiest brand you can deal with.its a matter of opinion and it dosent matter how much u can say sumthing you will never make me believe that SE is better than nokia.the same with me i could never convince u that nokia was better than SE,its just a matter of opinion, although all the facts point 2 nokia being the better brand i dont really want 2 argue about if SE is better than nokia.it will go on forever

Nokia is the biggest brand indeed and that is also why they should have good mobiles on the market now but instead of that, they are spending their funds on making ugly phones. Nokia 6230 feels very new and it does not have the strange and ugly look as many top handsets from Nokia have today.
The most important things here are all the good features it has.

what about the 5240 great look, great features

or the 7200 not a very good design but still feature rich

the 7600 will be popular among youth and to some extent businessmen

the 6230 will be an all round great fone

the 7700 has great features but not a very good design imo

the 3200 is not a good fone at all features r alrite but the design...i dont have 2 say any more, lol

we r still yet 2 see the new fashion fone the successor of the 7210 and 7250 and also most likely another series 40 fone being the successor of the 6610 or the 6100

as well as 1100 and 2300 they r new fones as well they will probly sell very well, but i admit they shouldnt as they r not very good fones design wise and feature wise...

nokia sells the most number of fones in the world is because it offers a huge amount of variety in their fones sumthing SE does not offer,it offers a T610 and soon 2 be T630 most likely the T650,the Z600 and the P900 and P800 and the T100 and T300...do they still make these???im not sure they were not very good fones n e way...

if SE made much more fones then they mite be as good as nokia but until they start producing and introducing many new fones, nokia will always be better than SE...

Nokia is not over-hyped because they have a broader model range and more users. This perfectly explains their popularity. But for a tiny brand like SE to be even more popular in forums like ours than Nokia with less than half the number of phones on sale that Nokia has and just a fraction of its users is simply ludicrous, especially since SE happens to be one of the least profitable and smallest companies with hardly any users.

I think recently SE is sure developing fast.....
Nokia is going down, of course, because they're far of a step forward, SE needs to do a lot in order to get in par... I'm talking abt reputation n sales here...not function....

Nokia doesn't offer the best functions but they're more stable than SE.
SE has the best tech, n if they work on on making more stable software...They're gonna be popularly in no time!

To ans Ghibli ques abt Ericsson, they did produce best feature n was not well reputated i think mainly because their products r not good looking!

lol

Just to remind you that the question was:
"Can number of posts represent the popularity of a brand?"
and not
"who is the best phone builder?" :D

Yes I think they are over hyped.
They have only been on top on the saleslist but far far far from the top technically.
That is why I think they are over hyped, they think they can do exactly what they wants to. I think thet are fooling their customers with plastic craps.
