I want to buy a new handheld PC with Bluetooth.
Can't choose from Palm TT, FS Pocket Loox or iPAQ 3970

Palm T|T, its great...small form, loaded with features, most comprehensive operating system

Ok, let's add iPaq 5450 to your list :-)
TT. Pros: compact, excellent reflective TFT screen with best resolution 320x320, pretty functional Cons: Short battery life (typical 4 hours with low backlight), needs a lot of patches and utils to use with comfort.
Loox. Pros: Nice design, CF&SD slot Cons: Short battery life
iPaq: 3970 not-so-noce, it's like Loox. But 5450 has WiFi and biometric security features. so it's the best up-to-date PPC.

to introject with my own experience. I have acrobat for palm and read documents on my T|T. I do turn the light down to about 2/3 ?(usually it is on 75%) when I read an 18-30 page document. I can always use my T|T for a complete day. The battery life of T|T is always sufficient for a complete day. You can't leave SPlashCLock on all day, but nobody can leave a handheld on all day.

OS 5 is great, fast and works well with other apps. Its great. Check out Brighthand's T|T forum if you don't believe it.

Well, if you need to surf the internet, check your mail, use the PIMs functions - TT is the best choice :)

If you need more (different emulators, games, tech programms, etc.) - Ipaq 3970.

5450 - imho, the failure. Bad joystick, buttons, reduced speed & battery life, the screen is much worse, than in 3970...

You can also buy Dell Axim + CF BT for example :) Or toshiba e740/750 + BT CF.

Pocket PC's are nice cause it's possible to install Linux on them.. You can choose the desktop which kind of GUI you want to use and now there very good ones made for handheld devices..

There's more info about Linux with handhelds. I have allready installed Familiar Linux to Pocket PC and it works well. I can get lot's of free stuff to it which are compiled to ARM from Linux souces ;)

Here's some photos after I installed the familiar to Ipaq H3630.

You can use directly from console ssh client aswell ;)
www browsers like konqueror is also for it and irc clients and messenger clients.
PIM works well with it. You can also use a bluetooth if you have one.
