CONNECT (http://www.connect.de) tested the Motorola v525. The results say that it is better than Samsung E700. On the other Hand they criticize some parts of the menu structure. I give you the scores the V525 and E700 achieve in some general ambits.

endurance (stand by, talk time):
Motorola: 66
Samsung: 80

equipment (software, funktions, hardware):
Motorola: 126
Samsung: 114

handling (display, dimensions, menu, keyboard, quality:
Motorola: 90 (because of some bad menu parts)
Samsung: 102

transmit and acoustic measurements (disruptions, hear, speak, quality of transmit and receive):
Motorola: 97
Samsung: 81

overall:
379 points for Motorola against 377 points for Samsung

What about the cameras? They haven't made a comparision about the quality of the pics?

yeah...what about the camera???

if the quality of the samsung V200 and P400 are anything to go by, the E700 should be better than the V600- but then again, u never know.

Does anyone know what type of camera each one has?? EG. CCD, CMOS...

- E700 camera's is better than V500 one.
- V525 has more features than E700 (Email client, speaker phone, bluetooth)
- E700 is smaller and more more beautifull than V500 (even than V600!)

But V525 is a very interesting phone for all persons whom want to buy a top phone for few money ;)

In France it is possible to buy it for only 69 Euros with contract while E700 cost 199 Euros...

In my opinion:
V525 is for everybody (teenagers, mass market)
E700 is a stylish product for fashion people ;)

yo sebset, im thinking of getting either the V600 or E700. The V600 has things like a better display (176*220) rather than a (128*160), and it also has bluetooth and other better features.

But the camera is still important. How much better is the camera on the E700 than the V600? Is it better enough for me to get the E700 over the V600? Is the V600's camera actually good anyway? How does the E700's compare to that of other samsung models such as the V200 or P400?

Yes V600 has better resolution. So the screen can display more lines of text and more graphical details than with Samsung E700.
However both screens have a similar size ;)

V525 is now out in France. This phone uses the same hardware platform than V300, V500 and V600. Pics taken with the Moto are blur on the edges and corners. It reminds me the Nokia 7650 performances... :( The Samsung E700 takes better pics with more vivid color and less blur.

i think V600 is actually similar size if not the same as E700...

I don't think E700 is smaller tha V600...

so which one would you get-the E700 or V600. They both have advantages and disadvantages. The motorola has a better screen but not as good pictures. The samsung has worse screen but better camera. I dont know which one to get!!??

Are the pictures on the V600 better quality than the 7650??

LOL, the E700 talk time was with the charger plugged the first 2 hours? In my experience Samsung batteries wear down quite fast... my sister in law has one; and it is empty quite fast. 1 hr calling and 1hr display open drained 2/3 of the battery.

I guess they test such things under ideal conditions with the phone only some meters far off the base station (they have their own base stations).

If your sister in law live in an area where the next base station is very far away the phone have to send more intensive signals what drains the cells much faster.
