i cant answer all questions i justed started this thread because otherwise the nokia forum would just be full of 6600 threads
Yeah i know, just carrying on as we mean to go on. And thanks for the info, anyone else?
My brand new 6600 is charging right now! I have no data cable and I?ve never really been able to get my bluetooth dongle to work right. How do I cope? How do I syn etc? Is there a cable available? I was expectin a pop port.
Also, I have downloaded Opera for browsing (nokia wanted 26 euros, Opera site it was free!)
I thought Opera was already installed, and Nokia are cheeky beggars to ask for money!
OKay, I have just inserted my sim card. Hmmmm, not sure about it all yet........
How can I copy all of my contacts to phone from Sim at once?
don?t worry, I got the little floppy book thingy out of the box and started to read it! ;)
Well, after about 1 hour of useage, I started out by thinking "what have I done?", but now I have moved on to "this thing will do ANYTHING!"
It?ll take a bit of getting used to, but I?ll manage.
Excellent, keep us updated with any good stuff you find!
Whats the build quality like and is it silvery or a standard plastic on the front? And the joystick, any good?
OK, I am not under any illusions that the silver plastic will always be silver, but that?s the same with any silver phone.
I have to admit, it?s not as good looking as my 6100, but then Nokia have had a bigger job on their hands in designing phone this size.
The buttons are very good and there are no real signs that the case will start to "creak" as some Nokias do.
I?m not a big fan of joysticks on phones, but this one seems OK, so far!
My next job is to get the bluetooth dongle on my PC working. Wish me luck!

trick
good 2 c see ur happy with ur 6600 and good luck :)
Just run into my first problem. I can?t get the thing to browse opera, WAP, or send MMS.
The normal GPRS setting don?t seem to work and the Nokia site isn?t supporting 6600 for Vodafone Espana
Anyone help?
It may be because it uses TCP/IP and therefore you may well need to get the settings of Vodafone Espana. Call them otherwise they may well try to avoid the question!

Hi i am trying to use my SE HBH-60 with 6600 but the phone cannot seem to discover the headset. Anyone tried this before and did it work?
Yeah me too - I'm eager to hear if the phone will work with other Bluetooth headsets like the Logitech?

I have managed to pair the 6600 with my HBH-30 headset wiyhout any problems. But that's a s far as I can get!
How can I get the phone to switch to the headset when a call is received?

I have a problem with the phone recognising numbers that are in the contacts list. I have checked with receiving calls from only one contact but for one of the numbers it shows the name and photo but for the other number all I get is the number displayed.
Any suggestions?

BT is a common problem to synchronise it with PC Suite. I use the IR through my lap top. It works perfectly only it takes long time to trasnfer data. Opera is included in the phone....at least at my case...otherwise u can indeed dowload it for free from www.opera.com.

It is not possible to change 6600 into stereo. The reason why it is because it has one speakerphone and you need 2 in order to get stereo sound.

How much mb mmc card can 6600 handle
thanks
I have had a 6600 for about a month now:
Cool phone, does everything I want it to do.
Case did start creaking a bit, just added a piece of paper behind the battery - problem solved! ;-)
Calender pretty complehensive, syncs nicely with Outlook.
I use a MSI bluetooth dongle - bit tricky to get working. Make sure you define enough incoming and outcoming Bluetooth serial ports - and assign them through the connection manager to the Nokia software. Usually I get it to work one way or the other.
Essential software: NGage installer, Bemused (control Winamp through BT), FExplorer, Auto Keylock, ReadM (pocket ebook reader - free!), Torch (pretty cool idea), SmartMovie.
I use a 128 mb card, I heard about guys going 512mb and beyond. 128MB = +- 3000 photos on high-res. Anything else?
Don't use my phone for music because of the stereo thing... :-(
Have a no-name bluetooth car-kit, works fine! :-) Except that I can't transfer my phonebook to it, but I just use voice-dial.
I've been using a 1GB card in my phone for a few months, no problems it's wicked :rotate:
You can get the cards from www.mobymemory.com at a reasonable price. At least you know they are brand new and not used ones.

Never saw a reply to the question of how to transfer contacts from sim to phone all at the one time. Can anyone help?
Tracey, 1024mb mmc... wow! I heard that a 6600 can only take upto a max of 128mb mmc? There seems to be some confusion regarding this.
SOMEONE... UPTO WHAT SIZE MMC CAN A 6600 TAKE? (And does it work fine in case of higher size mmc?)
Also, can someone tell me more abt "SD cards" and "RC reduced size MMC"? What are they?
"A Card Reader is a very highly recommended option for faster transferring (up to 2mb per sec) with cards of this size (1GB). Much quicker than all alternative connection methods."
Ok now... what's a "card reader"? :spy:
Sorry but i seem to be living in the stone-age!!
