90% of me says to buy Nokia 6230 for my next phone... ??? Bcoz NO news regading this :se: T650. That why i allways say :se: have to market they new phone well ahead.. :o See what happen now :se: lover like me also going to buy this NEW Nokia suffS

I don't think you will be disappointed with Nokia 6230, I wouldn't be that even if I hate Nokia sooo much.
I would only feel disappointment with my Nokia 6230 after release of the SE T650.

Oh, people, common! There are only a few minor details that make 6230 marginaly better than T630 - MMC card (again, to change it you have to take phone apart), MP3 (if it works as good ad in 6600, who needs it?) and more memory. Now devide this by typical Nokia poor execution (just look at 6600) and all of a sudden, you look at the phone that will make sense only in spring, when new software versions are available and prices have dropped.

By that time T650 will be announced and shipped in May. Right now there is nothing to announce, final specs and even design are not finalized yet. To say that SE behind just because they marginally will be for a couple of month is not exactly fair.

I think the 6230 in not better than T630 becouse the 6230 has MP3,Videorecord and MMC slot.

The T630 is far more better screen and menu structure an more build quality.

The screen from the T630 is also bigger than the 6230.

Have you held both the 6230 and T630 in your hands? How do you know if the T630 has better build quality?
The 6230 may have a smaller screen, but it is not inferior to the T630 in terms of image quality.

Also, the 6230 is of a higher class than the T630, as the T630 is only a mid-class product. So I don't see how the T630 is not inferior to the 6230.

YES, inferior because the 6230 has MMC, MP3 player, VGA camera and an FM Radio.
Again, how would you know about the quality of the two phones, have you tried them?
Besides, the SE OS isn't that great anyway.

One thing is for sure Nokia and build quality :D

becouse a vriend of mine working for Nokia,and he try it this prototype and is delay for 1 quarter so 2e quarter 2004.

It has big flaws at the moment. Nokia have some trouble with theire OS. and some more.

But i think that the T630 realy build quality is.don't you think??

The Nokia UI is far better than SE's UI. Sure, SE has the best-looking menu, but it has hints of the awful Ericsson menu, and Nokia's, although boring, is very intuitive. Also, their software is more stable than SE's.

With regards to build quality, I must say the T630 looks very plasticky compared to the 6230.

I'm not agree with that,becouse Nokia and his OS is crap like always,i know have many Nokia phone's befor now SE phone's,theire phone's is far more stable than any Nokia so far.

Only the 6xx have some minor problems,but that wil soon fixit.

i can't believe that SE interface is better than the
Nokia interface,
the SE interface has 4 ways to get onto the SE wapsite
and it's non user configerable!
and it uses the best 4 shortcuts!
the "up" on the joystick, dedicated button on the side
and two main menu icons

the menu is also too slow,
and when writing a text message, the phone lags behind
to what i type

Becouse Nokai have alot more costumers than SE,the UI from SE is testet by many mobile review site's.

You think SE has the best UI. There is no best UI because it is all a matter of personal preference. Just as I think Siemens has the best UI and Andyman thinks Nokia has the best UI.
It will be very pointless to defend SE at all costs because you will never sway others' opinions on the best brand, all you will accomplish is a very long argument.

personally i adore the se interface because of the aka windows icons, and i really hate nokia ui because of only one icon on the screen....but people have differnet tastes and therefore i think it's impossible to say something is best and something sucks.......

Only some Siemens models use Ericsson operating systems, and even then the UI is completely different, it is a bespoke Siemens menu.
Oh, and just in case you didn't know, SE isn't the only one with an iconic UI. Panasonic, Siemens and Motorola also have it, and even Nokia is now adopting it.

I think,their is no T650/T660 you know why.
Becouse Eldar make a mistake aboud the info from theT650/T660.

I think also that SE has problems with licentie with 1.3 megapixel cam from carl-zeiss.

SE has also finacieelproblems,so SE has no new phone yet til 2004.

Look at the Z600,T630,Z200 and the P900 all this phone's is not a new phone but update's phone's

DAMN its looks like that SE give up their technolechy???

That was the stupiest thing I have read for a long time.
First of all Carl-zess do not produce cams but they do produce lenses to cameras so there are really nothing to worry about regarding 1.3MP built-cam. Second thing: If Sony Ericsson can't agree with Carl-zeiss, then they will find another company

@draak: mistake? are you talking about the t620-t630-t650 confusion? if so that isn't a mistake my guess is that even se doesn't have a name ready so eldar was probably just guessing about the name, like for instance the p810-p900, se even wrote p810 on the cd but it was then called p900....

First of all you don't have the right to insult anybody.
You have to understand that the whole world has other languages apart from English and that means that for most people English is a second or a third language.

Not that im an expert, but i highly doubt it will have RS232 interface... I cant imagine they will put a big ugly and old connector on the phone just for serial communication possibilites? As long as it has USB/Bluetooth/IrDA why would they go back 5 years just for implement an old and somewhat almost dead interface. Within a few years the RS232 will be history... :)

They also should spoil IrDA as well and only have Bluetooth when we are talking about wireless connectivity.
USB 1.1 is still enough but to transfer things like songs, many big images between
the computer and the mobile, I think USB 2.0 or firewire are much more suited for that purpose.

I'm a new member following everything which a new about SE phones. I would like to congratulate you to such a successfull forum about SE phones. Thanks for that. I highly recommend you opnions about new specs and features of new phones.

I have something to add regarding the T650.

I would like to ask you, which could be the most advanced feature in the T650. Because I think every feature which is listed in this thread is already available in the market and even in the same size as the T650 will be. We all expect a graet new design by SE, but this is difficult, because of such ugly phones like T300, T310 or P800. P800 and T68 was the first phones on the market with really new features. But now the competitors have done their homework and can offer the customers features which won't have SE phones. Therefore I'm asking, when could we expect a phone which will purprise us in the way of features and design?

Yeah it depends when your contract ends right. Mine ends in June, so let's hope there will be some nice small MP3 phones available by then. But why would people want to buy the 6230 when they can get the 6600 for a cheaper price (it's even for free with a one year T-Mobile 450 contract)? It's not that much bigger, has so many more functions, a huge screen etc.

Ah well, this is a T650 topic afterall. :D (But I still don't see why people would want a 6230)
