Hi

Have just got the V300 and it comes with the worst instruction manula in history and the most illogical menu structure.

Can somsone please answer me the following:

1) When I have copied all numbers from SIM to phone, how do I stop it showing two entrries in my phone book, i.e. use only phone OR SIM, NOT both?

2) Can I store more than 10 SMS on the phone? It seems to suggest I can keep up to 99 but always says memory full after 10.

3) Does it have to save the SMS sent in the outbox? Can I stop this?

I had always thought the Motorola OS was awful but people had told me it had changed - still far from convinced it has come remotely far enough!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This is what I've been saying all along, and been beaten by Motorola fanatics for saying..

What has changed though, is the speed of the menu system, not the bad design.

Anyway, Motorola lovers still think it's the best system in the world, so I guess some people can love the menu system + iTap.

How do you like iTap? and which phone/brand did you come from?

well, I would love for one of these Motorola lovers to answer my questions, as they seem like glaring omissions, or just stupidly complicated to find!!

itap seems OK - pretty much the same as T9, but it was only by guess work that I could work out how to add a word to the disctionary.

It is actually my wifes phone, and right now she would rather go back to her Nokia 3330!! Personally, mine is a Nokia and I will be sticking with that.

for q3 you can not stop this it is by default, but you should be able to set up clean up of the outbox folder and there you can configure(i.e. keep only 5,10,15 messages or delete mesages older then X days and so on)...

q1 i had similar problem on my moto, and the only way i could of solved this is by deleting one by one...

q2, the outbox folder messages are stored in the memory of the phone and the inbox msgs on the sim, so it depends on that, but my moto is older so probably they changed things and the phone has a bigger memory... my could store aproximatley 30 msg in outbox and on my sim 30...

:D

look, silkk, you're talking about your old V66i, which I have myself. It's really not the same as the new V300!

A guy said me that if you receive a MMS then this use your SMS memory. Probably you receive some MMS?

Is this feature exists on the V300? If yes it should help a little bit users who cannot receive more than 10 SMS :eyes:

1. In phone book press menu->setup->veiw: primary contacts
2. SMSs are stored in your SIM card so the capacity is dependent on the card
3. Use outbox cleanup as silkk described

Olibiertje
Yes, it's not the same, but silkk is correct :)

Cro-Cop
SMS delivery report is turned off by default... don't know why :( sorry but can't help you.

doesn't seem to work on my phone!

Anyone got any other ideas? I do wonder sometimes who designs these phones, when they lack such simple features.

Guys!!

Why are you complaining?? You got the best phone in the world!

I've been bashing Motorola for the very reason that it doesn't matter if it's got BT,Camera,MP3 and shit, if the use of it stinks royally (and it has done on earlier Moto's)..
