International Warranty

does anyone know if there's international warranty for these manufacturers?

i'm interested in getting either an ipod or creative or iriver from another country (maybe AsiaPacific) and use it in London but am not sure if i can claim warranty in case it breaks down. please help.

only iriver offers an international warranty. but make sure you buy it from an authorised agent if they are not you dont get any warranty whatsoever...
if i were u i would definitely go for an iriver because of their features...

i really like the iriver design and function. but i'm a little worried about the application and they seem to use the WMP version 10 only.

by the way: i noticed that the prices for irivers are much more cheaper in US compared to those offered in UK and they have the latest models! and regarding the authorised agents, does amazon or any other seller online count?

have you tried the H10 20GB or 5GB? what's your take? :)

keep VAT charges in mind.
if you buy from the asia area the trend is to put ' gift ' on the box and avoid VAT.
Buying from the states will increase ur chances of paying VAT.
This means ur player will be stuck @ customs before they contact you,u'll have to pay a percentage (dunno how much,but here it is 21 % ) ,and u'll have to pay that in £.
It is also possible they make u pay some fine for "trying" lol.
Try and have it send in a reguler box,with no paperwork taped to the outside.

thanks for the tip. maybe i'll just buy one in UK as a friend of mine is leaving for Asia next month, so that she can claim the tax refund for me. then the price would stay down. what do you think?

the shopkeepers over here in london insisted that iriver has got 1 year international warranty and 2 years european warranty. i've checked with iriver but they say that they dont have international warranty, only covers the region where you purchase the product from. if needs service from another region will have to pay surplus. :eyes: causing me headaches.

any idea on this at all?

i myself sell iriver products in the shop where i work in london and can guarantee that they all come with a year international warranty and 2 years eu.

the h10 20g is actually due to come out but i cant tell you hen exactly..
the h10 5 giga is now £150 and the 6 giga is £165. good price isnt it?
and i have no information about a 8giga creative. though i know there will be a new 5 giga "zen neeon" coming out soon.

by the way if i were you i would go for the chunky h320 just because its got all the best features(movie playback, line in/out on device, external mic, usb host...)
but if its the design you are after than yeah the new 20 gig is a killer!

yeah.. it's really expensive in ££ USD is so cheap at least £25 cheaper! cant' believe that with better purchasing power, people in UK have to pay so much more for the products.

how much is it in the continent?

have decided to get the H10 whilst it's on offer and try it out.. if it doesnt suit me then have to switch to creative zen micro :)
