p.s: about the ipod shuffle, is it a good buy? i know they say i can fit only 200 songs in the 1 gb one but like i sed, i want around a 1000.... is there a format i can change the songs to, so that in a 1 gb ipod i can fit 1000 songs??? pls let me know asap... thanks.

the main disadvantage for the shuffle is no screen, im not sure about the format!

you can fit 1000 songs on the 4gb mini, but the 6gb is more reliable because its newer with improved battery life!
but depending what country your in, e.g. the U.K. the 20gb is now £189.99 and the and the 6gb is £170.00.

I cant comment on other players except for the the sony NW-HD3, which is now really cheap with 20gb and 30hours battery life!!
if i was you i would go for the ipod!!

hi liamss... thanks for the input.. what's your take on creative players? a friend mentioned that they're good.. let me know abt any players with more than 1 gig space... companies like creative, sony, rio, archos.. etc.. are they any good? thanks

i think you can get the Rio carbon in 5gb, and its one of the smallest ive seen,if the songs are in WMA then it can store around 2500 songs, the battery gives 20hours battery life which is 2 better than the 6gb

The creative ZEN MICR0 is 5gb or you can get it in 20gb and 40gg, its only got 12hour battery but has radio, and it stores bout 2500 in WMA format.it comes in ten colours, and the battery is removable, im pretty sure you can buy a better battery for it, i think you can go upto 60hours, but it wont be cheap. The sound quality is v.good aswell.

well you might call me biased but i'm not because i've had both! i did have a 3g ipod 20gb and not sure about the improvements on the 4th but it fruhstrated me a LOT!! battery life was quite appauling, i struggled to get more than 5 hours with decent volume, and it kept crashing all the time for no reason...

as a result i recently got a sony nw-hd3 in silver, now for £150 and 20gb storage from argos is simply a bargin considering ipod mini etc are the same if not more expensive. sound quality is much better than the ipod and the 30 hours battery life is fantastic, imho it looks bettter than the ipod too.

therefore my advise is if you want to stand out from the crowed with a better piece of kit (with the exception of white and orange lights and the games!) then get this!!

yea i had the NW-HD3 and the mini, i paid £250 for mone, the battery was the only reason i got it, but 1 day it just froze and wouldnt turn on!!

Now i would got the NW-HD5! with 40h battery!

sorry to hear that mine's been fine but i guess it might develop flaws in the future, well i would get the sony one then, definately avoid ipod you are paying for design imo, but i could have had a bad experience.

i would also have a look at the toshiba one, can't remember what it's called but its colour etc etc and very good value too, 20,30,40gb i think

i would say go for the Ipod, because ive had bad experiances from both seen as this is my thrid ipod, and its now only £180.
I dont mind paying for the design and the name!! but thats me! :)
