One of my company's managers bought some digital voice recorders (Sony ICD-B100) and was disappointed to find that there was no USB port on the device and that sound files could not be transfered to the computers for storage, emailing, etc. My question is this...can the headphone jack be used to connect to the PC in some way, perhaps via the microphone input jack? I'm not an electronics wiz, so I'm asking for some help from some of you guys.

Thanks for any information you may be able to offer. Obviously, if we can plug the recorder into the microphone jack the transfer speed will have to be real time, which presents its own set of problems. I'm hoping to find a band-aid until they get better recorders in a couple of weeks.

Thanks again.

Of course that works if your PC/soundcard has an input jack. This can be a 3,5mm jack or 2,5mm jack or maybe also a cinch input (a red jack and a white jack).

You need just a cable and maybe adapters to connect these ports. I think your voicerecorder has a 2,5mm jack so if you want to put it in your microphone port, you need a cable to connect 2,5mm to 3,5mm or 2,5mm to 2,5mm+an adapter to 3,5mm.
