View Full Version : Question about Sony NW-HD5
I am thinking of buying this mp3 player but I was wondering if anybody knows whether it can play WMA files as my music library is 95% WMA? Some websites only mention playback of MP3 and ATRAC but others mention WMA:

Thanks for that, it's making me think twice now. :)
Is there an mp3 player out there with superb sound quality, great design, long battery life and can play WMAs? with 5gb+ of memory
if you want to set yourself apart from the lemmings, get the toshiba gigabeat f series. it is awesome, better looking, sharp design, 16 hours. and it supports wma

if you REALLY want to set yourself apart, the gigabeat21 is even better looking. but it was never released in the US. you have to go to one of those japan outlet sites like dynamism and audiocubes. however it only has 10 hours per charge,,,,maybe less. but it has stuff that is toooooo cooool. a fantastic black leather case,,,a neck strap with play controls built into its stitch design! and it's really the cleanest looking player out there.

sony hd will let you use the wma files you have but the problem you will find is the software. I for one and getting f**king sick of it. It seems to crash if you so much as fart near the pc when it is running. It used to be the same with sonys old open mg software too. a real shame on an otherwise top machine. I will say it only crashes when you try to imprt the files and then conert them. If you have the cds though all will be fine cos it can just rip them off that.
