hi every body ..
i want to buy an mp3 player .. the price i wanted around 250-280$
and i need 2 know which better ipod mini or zen micro , zen neeon
and if there is a better mp3 player please reply :D

go for that cuuuuute green iPod. it's so fun to use. :D i have the 20gb one and trust me. it's soooo easy to use and it's so fun. :D
I've got an Ipod and the system and sound quality is fantastic. Wouldn't change it... especially not for a Zen Micro! ;) Never seen the Zen Neeon though...

Personally I'd say a Creative. You'll be different and you'll get extra features (this applies to the micro) such as the FM Radio, voice recorder etc. and the sound quality is better - scientifically proven.
Not taking anything away from the ipod though, it's good quality and has reasonable sound quality but personally I prefer to stay clear from something which now really lacks individuality.
The Zen Neeon on the other hand I believe lacks the FM Radio and voice recorder of the Micro but undoubtedly looks better than that and in my opinion the ipod. It will also have better sound quality.
Personally my vote would be for the creatives. The Ipod is a good player - no doubt about that, but let's face it - the player will spend most of it's time in your pocket so really, looks shouldn't play a huge part.
1. Zen Neeon - Individual and pretty cool looking
2. Zen Micro - Loads of features
3. Ipod - Good all round player but lacks individuality - every man and his dog has one. Apparently even the Queen does.

The 6gb mini is the same price as the 6gb micro so it doesn't have 2gb more at the same price. It does however have 1 more gb than the neeon. The battery life is longer but have you ever seen both beside each other - the creatives are very bright in comparison, probably due to the bright blue looking backlight.

I think if the decision was mine i would still go for the Ipod, it seems there is a greater deal of information and knoldege about them available.
However im still not decided as the iriver is supposed to be pretty good, any body got any ideas? :eyes: :confused:

i prefer MY white 5gb zen micro because of design AND features.
designwise:
the casing is not CHEAP, although it is not aluminium but high quality plastic and looks really appealing. also the blue lightning around is soo sweet.
the keypad is really good, but the clickwheel would also win my mind...
featurewise:
the zen micro comes with much more stuff in the package than the ipod mini.
mine shipped with a pouch, a beltholder and a stand, a charger and as a limited extra an additional battery [as a side blow to the not exchangeable ipod battery]...
the radio and the audio recorder are very useful.
with the new MTP firmware you can use the player with WMP10 without any additional drivers on any computer with WMP10 installed...
the earphones are at same quality level like the ones from ipod mini - some find them good, some find them very crappy. i replaced mine with decent sony earphones...

Well if u want a good chic mp3 playa go for the Ipod(which hasnt given me any problems till now) .But i ve also used the zen and,trust me it aint tht bad..rather much its worth !!
BTW also check out the philips ones-with a black backlight really nice lookin!!!

Go for the neenon, the sound quality is better than the ipod and its smaller then ipod. The bad thign about the neenon is its screen is relatively small but i like the blacklight which can be change its kina cool :2jump:

I have a micro and I love it but I think the novelty wore off. I love that it fits in the size of my palm so when I'm on the treadmill, I'm not holding a large round, and difficult to hold, cd player.
I rarely use the mic or fm tuner but it's pretty good when I do use them. You can record radio from your micro too and I think that's pretty neat feature for whenever I have to catch an important interview with my favorite artists and want to put it online. Transfer from and to the computer is pretty easy. Sound quality is great. Battery life is so so. I received 2 batteries and it's odd because one battery seems to drain out faster than the other. Navigating and creating playlists on the micro is pretty easy as well. And the pictures from Creative's site doesn't do it justice, at least the one I got. I have the silver one and I think it's just so pretty, especially when it's charging and the blue lights fade in and out, in real life. It depends on which color I think because I've seen some photos of the other colors from owners online and some colors just look downright awful.
Have you seen the size of the Neeon? It is tiny compared to the the iPod mini yet it's capacity is 5GB which is one up from the old mini and one down from the new one. The finish is great, even (as perhaps especially) without the the Stik-On covers. I also think the sound quality is better, but this is subjective - you need to go try it out in a shop to see what you think. Bring your own headphones to the store so you have a consistent base line comparison. People have complained about the interface, but I actually find the Neoon's scroll wheel quite intuitive and the menus easy to navigate.
As I see it, the only reason to go for the Apple is if you are already tied down to the iTunes Music Store. In which case you have to buy an Apple as only their devices will play their DRM'd files.

never heard of an hp ipod.....apple make the ipod no-one else as far as im aware....there are several other units on the market however the zen, iriver and several others...you just have to pick the right one for you

I just bought a 4gb iPod MiNi after spending 2 hours on the phone to find one, it ROCKS!! the click wheel rocks and the sound is amazing! im gonna buy a set of AKG k51 headphones because the Apple 'budz hurt my ears after 20 minutes of use. Also, in canada, the 6gb MiNi is $320, vs. the $250 of the 4gb, so thats my side of the topic and the Zen is butt ugly!!!!!!

WHEN I FIRST GOT MY MINI IPOD I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD. HOWEVER NOW HAVING OWNED IT FOR COUPLE MONTHS, THE FAULTS REALLY SHINE THROUGH.
1.VOLUME IS LOW AND YOU NEARLY HAVE TO HAVE IT UP TO THE MAX.
2. BATTERY LIVE IS ONLY UP TO 3 TO 4 HOURS AND NOT THE 8 HOURS AS ADVERTISED.
3. THE EARPHONES SUPPLIED ARE POOR AND UNCOMFORTABLE TO WEAR.
4. I WAS TAKEN IN BY THE HYPE AND PAID WAY TO MUCH £179.99. THERE IS BETTER AND CHEAPER MP3 PLAYERS OUT THERE.
5. WHY MARKET THE PLAYERS AS 4GB WHEN IN REALITY THERE IS 3.5GB. I KNOW I AM BEING PICKY BUT THATS A COUPLE EXTRA HUNDRED SONGS, YOU COULD HAD HAVE DOWNLOADED.

maybe they got a faulty model. because there never occured something like that to both my iPods. my sister has the 4g 20gb iPod and there hasn't been any problems since i used it before. it's 9 months old. i have the photo 30gb and it only freezed ONCE. because i accidentally took off the cable while it was uploading songs.
the zen micro has been voted better then the ipod mini in quite a few magazines in the uk

my ipod only broke, because i dropped it!!!
why are so many people advising mp3s so you can be different?? be the same!! get an ipod!

and the whiteness!
the mini version, is really small!

the sound quality on ipod sucks. i suspect many of those ipod owners wouldn't be able to tell sound differences between that coming out of a Lexus and the lawnmower. haha..

Yes the pad was overly sensitive but with the new FW update it remedied it somewhat but it's still a wee bit more sensitive compared to the ipod on its lowest sensitivity setting
Everyone i know who has an ipod has complained of it freezing and all of them ahve broken at least once. I am going to buy a zen micro cos i think they are sooooooo cute and because they are much better. The only reason the ipod sells more is because of the "cool" factor.
ye i agree i think i will go for the zen micro but does anyone know if there is a micro with bigger memory i love the look of it but could do with more than 6gb

I'd get an iPod mini. Now that it has been replaced by the iPod nano the price should drop pretty quickly. :)
umm , yeah , gavp8 you can get a 20gb zen and a 40gb zen but u can only get them in white or silver i think....
o right is that the zen micro though i have seen other one like the zen touch etc with this mem but i want that mem in a micro
