View Full Version : Request for a "Best of" sticky thread
Hey all...
This idea just came to my mind. How about a thread where all the funny & unforgetable posts that have been made on M-R would be gathered in :)
It just occured to me that, for example, when ever mweb6161 & threeX gather in one thread, an exteremely funny conversation happens ;) There are lots of duos like that on the Forums. Or extremely stupid (but funny) posts of members should not be forgotten & should hunt them forever :p
This thread should only be for the best ofs, so the mods have to keep it at all time closed except when they put a new post in it :) Of course it should be a sticky somwhere ;) (about forums maybe)
So that's just a thought. What do you all think about it & is it doable?
Thanx for the feedback

It's a great idea for me but I think the moderators will refuse it as silly...
It is indeed silly but... THAT'S THE POINT OF IT :D
Yeah that really cracked me up and made my otherwise shitty day!
Perhaps we should have two threads, "Hall of fame and" and "Hall of shame" :)
On second thought it might not be that fun to be reminded of ones posts months after..

i think its a good idea. although backgrounds should be explained with some of them.
its a tough job for the mods though...

Backgrounds are a little double edged as they can take away some of the fun IMO. On the other hand, you can make anyone look a total dork if you rip a quote out of it´s context.. i really don´t know what´s best.
I get the idea that EX700 is against the proposition, somewhat terrified that some of his "gems" may be highlighted indefinatly!!
Well to put it diplomatically as usual.. if quotes were to be listed alphabetically, 'E' would be a mile long
So are you basiclly asking for a load of stickys of dumb ass threads from Nokia 6630? I do not want that!

i saw this coming. while this idea is good in theory, i don't think its going to be good in practice. it would only work if there were only positive posts. unfortunately, human nature being what it is, thats never going to happen.
please keep your cool. its obvious that your grasp of the english language is shakey at best but dont take your ignorance out on us.
Who, me?
Who, me?
The slightly confused guy who deleted his posts in this thread ;)
BrightSpark, I agree.
Plus I think that the thread would be too un-manageably big in no time because of the posting habits of certain unstable individuals.
Threads not serving a purpose? Childish? Control that..
It looks like a good idea faw however it looks like it is going down in a great ball of fire :insane:
6630 could add alot to this type of thread if it ever makes it past an idea stage
xc, don't think that all of your posts would be exempt from a thread like that. ;)

This thread sounds like a good idea but i think it might get out of control?
Ok Ok... :)
I figured from your posts (even the deleted ones ;) ) that this idea is really not doable, although it might have been a nice thought. I was just thinking that would be like having a year book from school with the nice moments cought to be remembered.
But I allready saw what the poor mods responsible for it would face:
"hey why did you take this, I only was replying to HIS post", "listen, I dont think it's funny that every second post of mine you quote, there are others too who are stupid enough to get quoted" etc etc... ;)
It's not that the mods are sitting around & have nothing to do & eager for more headache confrontations with memebrs who can not laugh at their own slips ;)
Thanx for your feed back anyway

I think this is actually a very good idea.
Bu tit shouldn't be a sticky. Instead a locked to post forum, where people could go and read educational threads or extremely posted threads about something..
The mods would do the choice of which threads deerve to go to the "hall of fame" of threads, and the users that have more threads in that hall of fame could improve their forum user status, if the mods want to.
