When I look at the spec of the K750i and its 400hours in stand by, I'm very disappointed with what samsung has to offer.

I've got an old nokia 6510 and it holds like 300hours in stand by. I would not want to get a new phone that is actually worst than the one I got (wich is 3 years old by the way...)

Should I get the E720 or the K750 ? The ericsson is better in every in every way except that I like the E720's design. It's maybe stupid tp buy a phone just for its looks, isn't it?

First of all, forget the paper figures regarding standby.. i seriously doubt that your 6510 actually last 12,5 days straight unless wrapped in pink cotton, and SIM removed.
Second: Just about any current phone will bury your 6510 alive features-wise so i wouldn´t worry about downgrading :)
Off the record, and my 100% subjective opinion is that unless you´re content with a phone "as is" out of the box, don´t buy a Samsung! The K750 is infinitely better in most regards except maybe the Samsung folds up better..

Do you believe that the K750's battery holds 400 hours or is that BS ? I mean it's twice what the samsung can do...

Thanks for the reply :)

From personal use as regards the E720, I can tell you it is a great phone with quite acceptable battery performance.

I'm somewhat perplexed as to why you seem to apply such importance to standby time since standby time means essentially nothing when contrasted with real time usage... not to mention the fact that quoted manufacturer standby times are usually pure nonsense.

For example, a particular phone might have a manufacturer quoted battery standby time of 500 hours (20.8333 days), but if the phone craps out via poor power utilization via software/firmware, after minimal usage after a few marginal duration usage situations, what does the long life battery claim of the manufacturer provide you?

Battery life claims by manufacturers are universally lies..or suggestions, at best.

What matters is real life usage.

I can listen to a few MP3 songs, place several 5-10 minute calls and send several text messages per day via my E720 and still show a 2-3 bars on my my E720 after 3-4 days.

To me, this is quite acceptable.

Just a note based on the K750i

A reviewer tested the K750i, on full charge, it had a talk time of 9 hours and 45 minutes before the battery went flat. SE claimed 9 hours.

As for Mp3, SE claims 15 hours. Not sure if anyone tested.

that sounds very poor to me.
as an approximation, that implies that about 60/70% of the juice has been used. the battery indicator isn't uniform. after about 60/70% of the juice has gone, it drops to 2 brs. after about 90% of the juice has gone, it drops to 1 bar.

^ I'm actually pretty pleased with the E720 battery longevity... but I admit I'm used to the poor battery life I've experienced with the E715 so the longevity of the E720 is a big step forward. Utilizing the many features of the E720 (including gaming, which I neglected to mention) on a daily basis but still showing (nearly always) 3 bars is acceptable to me.

If I had the battery charge status code for the E720, I'd be happy to run a real life usage test. Anyone have it?
